[QUOTE]Lala, YGPM. Stacks, I'm beyond actually measuring my food, but I know when I'm at that - one 'more bite, and it will be ugly" point. Occasionally I've eaten it, and paid for it. But, the loss and health and activity gain totally make it worth it.  Usually 3/4 of any restaurant meal goes home.

Exactly.  Which to me does not in the LEAST BIT equal the easy way out in any way shape or form!  You are constantly reminded of it with everything you do because I'm sure you know that if you don't constantly think about it you could gain the weight back.  Am I close?

I know a married couple that got gastric bypass together.  They both looked amazing.  The husband continued to eat small portions and exercise and the woman slowly began eating more and more food until she could eat regular portions again.  She is heavier then when she started.  Their marriage has suffered because of it as well.  It's like a guilt/jealousy thing they both wrestle with.
  • You coworker needs to have his junk lit on fire.

Someone I know had gastric bypass (old co-worker) and she pretty much threw up every day for like, 4 months straight because she couldn't get the right amount of food before going overboard.  That doesn't sound easy to me.  I'm just saying.

I flame you for making me shriek with laughter at work.  :)  Evil donut stealing lady.  I'm mad at her for you, would be happy to douse her with lighter fluid.  And and also that coworker.  And the original person who posted that video.
  • No one should ask Gastric bypass lady how she lost weight.
The LAST time I asked someone how they lost weight, she told me she had health issues and had to have part of her colon removed.  I deserved to feel as shitty as I did.  It was none of my business and rude to ask.
If Gastric Bypass lady doesn't want to advertise on Facebook that she had surgery, it's her business.
Maybe there were people on there that just didn't need to know.

I've said more than once on here that I have implants.  That is because none of you know me.  If someone at work would have noticed the difference, I would have told them it was a push up bra.
I'm a liar, lair, pants on fire.

It's none ya business.  And thanks, now I have Salt-N-Pepa stuck in my head.

But, this is a flame thread, so I defend your right to flame her.  I just don't think you should feel so strong about it, and feel like she is affecting other obese people.  There's enough positive stories out there for those curious about GB.

  • Looks like Mac isnt going argue this anymore, but I'm adding my two cents anyway.

A person's weight, whether they are over- or underweight, is a health concern. For you to judge someone for making a decision pertaining to their individual health and well being and how they choose to tell others, or NOT tell others about that decision is incredible to me.

But with the gastric bypass comes hard work - people who get these surgeries have to continue to work at it every single day of their lives. It's not a one and done surgery.
