Wedding Invitations & Paper

Who gets an invite?

Am i supposed to send a formal invitation to my immediate family (mom and dad) and my bridal party? Obviously since they're all an important part of the ceremony they know when and where it will be, and have already made plans to be there. It seems a bit redundant to send an invitation to those that very obviously know the information, and I don't see it as necessary to get RSVPs from them. What's the ettiquete here?

Re: Who gets an invite?

  • Yes, even your parents and wedding party members get invitations.
  • Yes parents and BP members still get invites.

  • Yes, send them an invitation.  Some people enjoy saving them as keepsakes.  In addition, if it is a plated meal, you will still need to know their meal choice.  And, if you are offering your wedding party members the option to bring a guest, you will need to know if they are bringing a guest and the guest's name.
  • Yes even those in the party get them, when we sent our STDs my parents were in separate states for the entire month so we actually sent one to their home, where my dad was and another to where my mother was. she called crying and showed it to everyone bc she was so excited we did that for her.
