Did prices increase around the holidays?

I've been watching prices on airfare/car packages on several websites, for two different cities, and it seems that they just shot up about a week ago.

They were steady for a while (should've just booked). I'm wondering if it's a December thing?

I know this stuff is hard to predict... but do you think there's a chance the prices will go back down in January or Februrary? Our honeymoon is early June, so we have some time, but not THAT much time.

Prices ALWAYS go up around the holidays and back down afterward.

Good to know! Hopefully I can get a better deal in Jan or Feb. If not, I'll just have to book because we don't want to wait any longer than that.

Around June 5th (flexible by a couple days)

And we're flying to either San Diego or LA (we'll be traveling to both)

So far, San Diego has been cheaper. A couple weeks ago it was MUCH cheaper, but now the price gap is marginal.
