FFF

I flame the fact that I have to go to work today. They royally pissed me off yesterday, one girl even volunteered me to stay late last night. I flame my thermostat for not knowing when to turn off.

Re: FFF

  • I flame that my neighbors fail to realize that the way our apt complex is built, that having their "friends" come over and party till late really affects everyone. Yes, you hootin and hollerin keeps me up! What a novel concept!

    -Your grouchy and tired neighbor
  • I flame the fact that I am taking off on Monday and everyone decided to wait until last night to bring HUGE items to my attention. Flight leaves at 5 today- hope I make it. Oh, and now I get to lug my elephant of a work laptop with me. Awesome. Boo on you people. Boo. on. you.
  • No flames here because I'm off to College Station for the weekend for our third anniversary.  Cannot wait!!!!!

    YAAAAAAAAY!  Congratulations!

I flame the guy who sits at the donut shop blasting music on his phone over the beautiful classical music the nice store owners play.  You're not even eating, guy.  Go sit in your car and listen to that stuff.

And I have been hesitating to say this, but I flame people who only come around to brag about this or that and then don't really participate in the community part of this board.  I'm glad we've got lots of new traffic, but I find myself only really caring about the girls who, you know, talk to me.

ETA: New flame.  Look, parent.  You don't get to talk to me like I'm "the help."  If your kid claims to have turned an assignment in that I already graded and handed back, chances are your kid is full of it.  I told you I would look.  I don't need three more emails reminding me.

After we participated in the little guys field trip this week, and watching some of the parents, Matt and I give HUGE kudos to teachers for putting up with some much parent s**t!!
  • Professor -

What a jerk!! It's because they think their kids can't do anything wrong...I hope that
    it works out for you!

    Julie -

Congrats on your third anniversary! I hope you have a blast in College Station!

    Crash -

I'm soo sorry about your thermostat! Idk about you but I can't sleep if my apt is a certain temp. I hope you get it fixed before your electric bill comes out. Is it not turning down or is it not going up or what?
  • Julie, yay, and congrats!!!! Aeliza, that just out right stinks! And our work laptops must be soul-mates! It down right ridiculous how heavy they are...

I don't get parents these days. If my kid forgets to turn in an assignment well than sorry dear child take the heat for it. Because I know 9 times out of 10 she is going to be full of crap to get out of getting in trouble.
Yay Julie for your getting out of Dodge. Enjoy your trip.

I flame that my savings account is going to take a major hit this morning paying for my daughter's dental work. Ughh! cavities. No more soda little Miss.
I also flame that my hand is all swollen from last nights boxing class. Leg day for me today.

  • Parents today....

Well, I dealt with that earlier this week and also a couple of weeks ago and this was just about prom.  The mom a couple of weeks ago told me to go ahead and sell her daughter a prom ticket even though her daughter owed over $400 in AP test fees.  Sorry, no.  I'm also still waiting from the helicopter mom who thinks that I'm trying to ruin her life by serving dishes with nuts at the prom when her child is allergic.  Whelp, did you know we can make those things without nuts?  Even after I reassured her twice that we could accomodate her child's dietary restrictions, she still was basically telling me that her child was going to die at prom and it would be my fault.  This kid is 18 and is graduating  in four weeks.  He's gotta learn to take care of himself sometime (PS:  he has an epi pen too).

Julie, congrats on the anniversary! What are you guys planning to do in c-stat?

I flame that I forgot that I have a "work lunch" today in celebration of last week being administrative professionals' week...even though I'm not an administrative professional. What part of engineering/geo tech says admin? Anyway, it's a free lunch so I guess I shall be thankful. I was just looking forward to an entertaining lunch with FI and his co-workers.

Did I ever tell you guys my crazy ex-roommate asked her MOH to step down?  Basically the usurped MOH wasn't doing what the bride wanted (I have no idea what crazy demands she made, as I'd pretty much cut myself off from this Bee), so she replaced her.  But she still wanted her to be a bridesmaid, you know, no hard feelings, right?

Well, we were going to try to go see a baseball game tomorrow or Sunday, but they're all sold out.  Last time Tech is in town for the foreseeable future, plus it's finals weekend, so I guess parents are coming to help take stuff home.  Anyways, we're going to go check out the newly remodeled MSC, see the bookstore, buy Aggie stuff, go to Aggieland Outfitters, buy Aggie stuff.  We're joking that we might want to take a tour of campus.  My husband was a freshman 20 years ago this August (he's old).  The last couple of times we've been down it was just for one night either before or after some of the basketball games we've gone to.

I mean, I tried to remind myself that I definitely skipped the AW thread when I got things like my engagement ring and my dress, but I PIP-ed the shiz out of that thing AND I didn't feel like I was just some rando.  I'm sure some people thought I was annoying, so I try to keep it in, but seriously.  I'm happy you checked things off your list, I just wish I knew you.

And I had something else to say, but my kids just made a very loud noise and then all got quiet at once and started exchanging shifty glances... I haz suspicious.

How many miles are on your car? It could be your catalytic converter. After about 100,000 miles or so, it's programmed to go out..I'm in that situation now and my inspection is out so i'm having to rig it long enough to pass inspection then start saving for a new one :/
  • I flame people who post on Facebook CONSTANTLY with 'OMG I'm so blessed to have an awesome (enter relative/friend/coworker), they are so (adjective) and (adjective)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had to block newsfeed posts from these kinds of people so much recently that I am wondering if it is an epidemic. I welcome the random 'so and so is so great, thanks for being so supportive', but every effing day? How much reinforcement do you need? Yes, we get it. They are flipping awesome, my gosh you're so flipping lucky. J would be so embarrassed if I constantly sung his praises on there. Get a life.
My BFF gets a pass because she is 8 1/2 months pregnant and I love seeing the daily posts about how excited she is. This is their 3rd go-round with IVF and I am stoked to meet my miracle niece/nephew. But all the others are on.my.nerves.

I'll also flame the fact that I have to come into work tomorrow for a few hours--it is Derby Day and I need to be drinking like my folks in the homeland. Doesn't everyone know that!? This software transition that we made is kicking my tush.

I flame people who update their facebook every other hour with, "My baby boy has a fever of 102!  Please pray for him!  Now his fever is 100!  Please keep praying, oh God, please protect my son!"

Get off Facebook and take the kid to the freakin' doctor.  I believe in the power of prayer, but I pray that the doctors will know what they're doing.  Not that illness will just disappear by magic.

Less than 100,000. I ran it by AutoZone, and it's the Mass Air Flow sensor. Luckily, with H doing it, it's only a $60 fix.

Kylie, I have had some good interviews, but when we get to them asking my current pay, I become too expensive for them. Onward, I go, I suppose.
