Hiking clothing? (PW today, sorry)

I am attempting to find some clothing for my safari.

Does anyone 1) go hiking and/or 2) know of places where I could purchase said clothing? According to the safari people, I should just be able to find this stuff on REI/Patagonia/North Face, but none of their stuff appeals to me (and/or doesn't fit).

I need pants, fleeces, and long sleeved t-shirts because it will be their winter in Africa and it'll be about 50-70 degrees. Oh and the stuff has to be khaki/green/neutral colors or the animals and insects will freak out.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the PW-ness today.

    Have you checked out Helly Hansen or Columbia?

    You're all right. REI actually isn't that bad. I think they carry Columbia too. Maybe I'll just go down to Soho post-work. Thanks!

    I'm not totally sure. We're staying at a ritzy luxury safari lodge, so we're far from "roughing" it, but I may have mentioned this before -- ALL of my clothing is black and/or dark colors, and apparently that attracts these biting flies. So I need to buy neutral colored clothing. I more said "hiking clothing" because I didn't think "safari clothing" would get many hits! :)

    I think you're all right about REI though - they have a few types of pants in stock, so I may just go down to the store. As far as long sleeved shirts/fleeces, I will probably just stop at like Jcrew or Banana or something since I would assume they carry that type of stuff.

    If only my whole wardrobe wasn't NYC-black, I wouldn't have to buy this stuff. My fleeces are both black, of course.

    LLBean starts at size 4, so that won't work.

    LOL I think my FI actually has something like this for when he's on long hikes. I'm sure he'll bring it on our honeymoon. I can't wait to see what our pictures will look like.

    Thanks, everyone.

    I went to REI tonight and NOTHING. FIT. NOT ONE THING. I tried on REI, North Face, Patagonia, Columbia, Mountain Gear, and like 3 or 4 other brands. I tried regular 0 and petite 0 in basically every single brand imaginable and none of them were close to fitting. They were all too long and every single one was massive in the waist. Seriously, where am I supposed to buy clothes?

    I tried the size 14/16 in kids but it was massive. I tried the 10/12 in kids which fit in the waist but was SO SHORT.

    UGH. I hate not fitting into anything.

    Back to square one.
