couple is a friend of ours. we are friends with both but a whole lot closer to the woman. live about 12 hours away from us. Woman was able to fly in for the wedding, man was not due to conflicting flight schedule/wedding scbedule.
we would like to express how much it meant that she was there, without making it sound like we don't care he missed it.
This is what I have but don't like:
