I know you may not have access to the knot at the moment, but I have a bone to pick with you. Why why why did you bring ungodly cold weather to Florida with you? We never have snow in ORLANDO, but it may snow here this weekend. I blame you.
Well the cold got brought down to Louisiana as well. It's supposed to be like 17 degrees tomorrow. With a windchill of 5-10. I think this is one of the coldest winters I've ever seen as a resident of the deep South.
I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

You want 100 degree summers with no breeze and high humidity? You can have it.
We do have some big spiders, but they're all relatively harmless (it's the smaller ones that are nasty! ;P) and well, the only other thing I can think of which we have here that you don't have that is 'deadly' are crocodiles, but you guys have aligators and they're pretty much the same thing (not to mention, you'd have to be venturing either ridiculously far north or into the outback to wander by a croc. Either that, or the zoo, which is the only place I've ever seen them).
Honestly, if you were just on holidays here, I would be surprised if you even saw a spider. It's not like we live in the jungle (despite the fact that my house DOES look like an oversized tree house... that's just because I'm a weirdo though, and has little to do with my nationality).

you mean everybody in australia doesn't live in the forest, have a pet kangaroo, and go croc wrestling?

Sun, What about funnel webs? My BF's parents lived in Australia for a while and they said that they had to shake out their shoes and always look in drawers and cabinets so they didn't put their hand into a funnel web spider.
He told me that and I said, no austraila for me.

We don't live in the forrest or forest. Nor do we all live in the 'outback' either.
I know it's hard to believe, but I don't have any pet koalas, and I never rode a kangaroo to school, either.
You know, when the olympics were on here, there was a list published of some of the bizarre questions that the organisers were getting. They included things like someone asking if we had ATMs in Australia, and if so, where they were located. I think that everyone seriously believed that Simpson's episode about us hanging out in muddy dams all day and travelling around on our kangaroos.
On another web forum I post on, I mentioned something about compulsory voting once, and a lady started saying how terrible it was that we were forced to vote for a particular party... I then had to explain that no, contrary to apparent popular opinion, there's more countries in the world who utilise a democratic system than the US! She then went on to defend herself, saying that in many developing countries voters are forced to vote with the party in power... last time I checked, Australia wasn't on the list of developing countries... !

Funnel webs are fairly small and not very common. I actually live in the city where they are most common (I read up on them recently and they're apparently only on the very eastern area of the country). They tend to stick to their nests in the ground, though. Actually, I hadn't seen one until recently- the house we bought is out in the 'bush' a little, and I found a hole on the ground. I grabbed a stick and poked the hole out of curiousity/stupidity, and this spider ran out with fangs ready. Then Nick saw what I had done and told me to get away from the spider, lol. But really, in my whole life I have only seen that one.
And haha, yes, there are big giant spiders, but they are all in the rainforest areas- mostly in the northern part of my state. I have never seen one of those things (and hope I never will!).
I won't lie, we do have spiders in the bush outside our house, and some of them are somewhat big (maybe 2 inch span), but they are the harmless variety. We don't have them inside though.
