Curious if anyone has any good alternatives for aisle runners for an outdoor ceremony. I know traditional aisle runners get hung up and caught and people trip on them, and generally, are a recipe for disaster.
HOWEVER, we are getting married right by the water in the bay area. Which means... GOOSE POOP! We are going over in the morning right before the ceremony and raking and cleaning up as much as possible, but there is no way we can really get all of it. I'd prefer not to walk down the "aisle/grass" and end up with a bunch of goose crap on the bottom of my dress... cuz, the way my dress is, it will have a traditional bustle... and that goose crap will just cascade right down the back of my dress once its bustled.
Any suggestions? Ideas? I was originally thinking fake grass... like, roll out some fake grass on top of the real grass.. but, I think that will look pretty tacky.
Any ideas would be great !
Thanks

Re: Aisle runner
I also do not want to bustle my gown before the ceremony... or I probably would have just bought a dress without a train. There is a lot of detail on the train... so, I don't want to miss out on having that show during my ceremony.
So, I'm hoping for ideas about alternatives for fabric, etc. Like, maybe carpet? fake grass? walking on the backs of the groomsmen? anything that maybe folks have done or seen before would be really helpful.

I can't think of anything that you can lay for your aisle that will cover the goose poop, not get blown into the water, not get tripped on, or look (sorry to use the dreaded T word!) tacky.
If I were you, I'd use some larger aisle markers, so you can strategically place/shift those over particularly bad spots if need be, and bustle your gown. You'll still be able to show off your train in pics. Otherwise, you'll just need to deal with a cascade of poop later.
In any event... I figured out a way to deal with it.

its actually made out of a heavier fiber carpet... like a red carpet style ... so won't blow away and we won't sink through it like a paper/light fabric aisle runner.
problem solved for the low low price of $109.00!
