Hotel Ballroom Price?

I am still in the very early stages of planning but I need to get a budget more firmly in place. I was wondering if anyone knew the average cost of hosting a reception at a hotel ballroom, more specifically a Choice Hotel or Quality Inn?

I know that catering might be included, does anyone have any experience with a similar venue?

    You probably want to check the Kansas City board because prices vary widely around the country and this is a national board.

    Or, you know, visit the actual places.

    Yes, to agree with PP, I'm not sure those particular hotels have ballrooms.  You might want to check like a Holiday Inn, or in KC in particular, hotels near the airport are probably more likely to have ballrooms or very large conference rooms.
