We were engaged where we first met IRL -- terminal 2 at Sky Harbor Airport. If you know it, you know it's looking a little worse for wear these days. But it was still special.

Uh, my FI proposed at a sushi restaurant. We were the only ones there though, and going to eat sushi is one of our "hobbies" or favorite things. So, it had some meaning.

My friends all criticized my FI's proposal...and that he let me pick out my ring instead of handing one to me during the proposal. They said he should've got down on one knee at least.
Then, when the conversation shifted to talking about venues, attire etc, the one friend proceeded to lecture me about how this all isn't about a wedding, it's about a marriage...
I thought: "yeah, you're right, so why does it matter then that my FI didn't propose in x, y, and z ways." =me super annoyed.
