Palm Valley Gardens (Ponte Vedre beach FL)-Reviews needed

Hello Ladies- Just wondering if any of you out there have attended a wedding at PVG, are planning to use it as your own venue or have toured it? I am currently planning from out of the country but I love this venue via the pictures I have seen, it is a bit pricey however. Any reveiws would be appreciated! Thank You!

I am using PVG.  They have been really great even with some recent staffing changes, while they did not have a planner the owner was returning e-mails and phone calls.  They have been very easy to work with and am looking forward to having our wedding there.  We didn't view many places since I fell in love with PVG and even moved our date to get it.
Do you have any questions?  If you want I can send you the PDF slide show I made for my parents and FIL since they are all out of state.

I took a tour of it in October and was not impressed. The pictures on the website are beautiful, but you don't see (or smell) the exotic animal farm next door...

The pond has a blue dye in it and I thought it looked tacky in person. Also we were EATEN by mosquitos in the middle of the day while walking around the pond on the sidewalk. I know it's Florida, but I can't imagine making my guests sit through that.

Inside the house was beautiful, but the layout of the "main" rooms were smaller than I would have liked and felt awkward for a reception. If you have over 40 guests they would need to be split up between the rooms for the reception, or you could set up tables outside in the front yard (but the road was visible and loud). The carpets inside the house were stained badly.

They did have a cute firepit outside (which doubles as the smoking area) if you're having it during the colder months.

I was not impressed. But then again, I had my heart set on The Cummer from the day he proposed. And at the same price with none of those problems, it was a no-brainer for me ;)

I just attended a wedding there on Saturday, which was absolutely beautiful.  It is a very charming venue.  I have to concur about the animal smell.  Not overwhelmingly bad, but noticeable.  Definitely would not be a deal breaker for me though.  We too were eaten alive my mosquitos during the ceremony.  I think I ingested a few as well.  The dinner reception seating was outside in the front of the building.  I did not notice any road noise, but then again, I had a couple of glasses of wine before dinner began.  LOL!  Palm Valley is not a super busy road during the later evening.  Overall, a nice venue, but I have also heard it was very pricey.  My very biggest complaint... the walkways/paths are stones/brick/uneven and not at all good for a gal in heels.  The walk around the pond from the ceremony to the cocktail/reception location was quite long, VERY narrow and all uneven brick.  I almost ended up IN the pond.  God bless the brave brides who take on that processional!  And from the parking lot, the walk to the ceremony area is all gravel.
