Monday!!!!!

Good morning!

Guess what, it is raining and storming here again in central Ohio. Not a surprise I guess.

I haven't been up this early in a while. This week is probably going to kick my butt. I start the new job today - whoo!

Re: Monday!!!!!

  • Good Morning.  Have a great first day Missysue!  The rain - shocker right?  ugh.  I got very little sleep last night so I'm in a crappy mood for the time being.  Hopefully that will change after I wake up a bit more.
  • Yeah I was awaken by one of the storms that rolled through, too. I know I am going to be dragging tonight. But I have to put on my happy face to meet parents.
  • How was your Carrabas dinner this weekend?  We just ended up on an impromptu shopping trip at Easton so we ate at Mongolian BBQ last night.
  • Morning.   It's not raining, but there is zero wind which means it's hot and humid out.

I have a somewhat busy week.  This weekend is our friend's wedding.  People are starting to come into town and there is a lot of socializing going on. The b-party/boat trip is on Wednesday.  Other events through out the week.

DH starts vacation tomorrow.  He needs to get ready for the packers, help with the wedding and get the condo ready to rent.   I'm working late all week, so he is on his own.

Good news on the wedding front.  The boys will not be golfing on the wedding day.  They have wedding stuff to get ready.  One less drink fest for them to attend.

Good news on the moving front, we *may* have found a place to live.

  • Lynda that's good about the golfing trip on the wedding day.  One less thing to worry about.  It might also be a blessing that you're going to be working all week - let your H stress about the moving details for a bit.  Give us some deets on the place you might have found though.  When will you know if it's yours?

Cfas - are you going to puerto rico in a week to meet up with them?  I'm so ready for a vacation.
  • Morning! Have a happy first day Missy!!
It is supposed to be 98 degrees here today when I leave work at 5pm. I think I might need to take a swim when I get home.

  • It's this really cute traditional NO apartment.  Exposed brick, cute little balconies, plantation shutters, 2 large bedrooms, large living room, all new appliances (including new a/c-heat - can't tell you last time I needed heat), only 2 blocks from DH's work.

The bad news is the showed the place yesterday, so it might not be available.  One of DH's co-workers is going to look at it tonight for us.  If he likes it then we will put down the deposit.

  • Good morning!

Good luck on the job MissySue!

Lynda -- I hope the apartment works out for you!

Rain again in CT.  This is getting depressing up here.

  • Good Luck Lynda - I hope you guys like it and can get it.  I'm sure it's not easy apt shopping from far away.

  • Morning, everyone! I've been at work for almost 30 minutes, but I won't teach my first class today until 1:30. Gotta love teaching seniors who took their exams last week.
Missysue, GL today. Lynda, sounds like a cute apartment. What neighborhood (if you don't mind sharing)? Ggirl, welcome to the south. I had to do a double take when you said it was going to be 98, and your location still says "upstate NY."  Cfas, boo s to so many early mornings. And Stacks, I hope your mood improves.
  • Thanks sara.  It did.  Mr Stack just made me cry (happy tears of course).  He's one sweet man.

Sorry, I went to eat breakfast. It was really yummy, I hadn't eaten at one in years. H and I love Mongolian BBQ. He actually mentioned that we have to go there when he gets back. We didn't really have anything that compared to it where we lived in GA.
  • Sweet and a hottie?!? You hit the husband jackpot there.

  • Good morning.  I'm still sick, and I don't have enough vacation time to stay home, so that kind of sucks.  I keep going back and forth between freezing and sweating.  I wish I could just crawl back in bed.

  • I heard there were going to be record highs today in the south. I don't know what I would prefer - rain or heat. Oh well, we have rain.

I am praying for the victims of Missouri & Wisconsin as they begin to clean up from the tornados. I can't believe it killed that many people. The pictures on the news this morning make me want to cry.

Thanks ladies for all the well wishes for the job. I am sure it will take me a week or two to get in the groove, but I am excited about finally being able to work again and work for a *hopefully* good company.
  • Good morning all! Missy good luck at school today. It must be hard to come in at the end of the school year as a new teacher.

I'm only in the office today and tomorrow, then I work from home on Wednesday. Wednesday night I leave for Europe! YAY! Mr. P and I had a great weekend. Went to the show at Andrews AFB so I could see the plane Mr. P works on (and basically paid for our house, thankyou) and promptly got myself burned to a crisp. But I had a really good time. Then yesterday I went and played with my friend's twins and hung out with her. It was lovely.
  • Lucky, Manda!  (both the getting to go to Europe and visit Snippy parts)

My boss is out for the week so it's just me and the "substitute" priest, who was our former pastor about five years ago.  I don't know him very well because I was away at college when he was here.  I heard he's quite a difficult boss though, so my fingers are crossed.

I received an invite to my cousin's shower this past weekend.  She doesn't have a registry...just a HM registry.  I've never been to a shower with just a HM registry.  I'm not a fan of the idea, so would it be okay for me to just put a check in a card and do that for my gift?  Declining the shower is out of the question (much as I'd like to), since it's family and my mom's side is known for holding grudges over things like this FOREVER.

  • Good morning! I should NOT be up this early, but I can't seem to fall back to sleep. I guess it means I can get an early jump on wedding stuff. I've been looking at pictures from the damage in Joplin, Mo from the tornado last night, and it just looks like a war zone. I can't even imagine...http://www.ky3.com/news/kspr-tornado-strikes-joplin-major-damage-reported-20110522,0,7268775.story

    Missy-good luck today!
  • Have a good first day missy!

I'm up feeding the little one. I'll 'probably head back to bed when he is done.

    Morning everyone.

I'm feeling awful this morning...allergies or a sinus infection.  Hopefully I can go home and crawl into bed soonish.

In good news, FI and I bought our wedding rings yesterday! *happy dance* I'm so excited!

  • My Nani died.   She was born on September 11, 1906.   She died in the home she shared with my grandfather for many years until his death in 1989.  They were never married.

  • I'm so sorry Lynda.  :(
  • Thanks ladies.. She has been hospice for 3+ weeks now.  So it's not really a surprise.  It's just sad.  She was the last of my grandparents generation to die.

  • Oh Lynda, I'm so sorry.
  • babestate- honestly I'd get them a gift. If being snarky won't fly very well, get them something practical/useful (but non-returnable). If you think you can get away with a little snark, go full on and get something tacky. :-)

cfaz- I totally read that the same way, heehee

lynda, I'm sorry. I hope her life was as full and happy as it was long!
  • Cfas and Manda, you're just a pair of evil-minded ladies.  Shame on you both ;)

They're going to Disney.  That's their HM.  Originally the plan was to elope at Disney, but I guess they decided they wanted a big wedding after all, and used the money for that.  My cousin told me they were still going to FL for their HM, and I was wondering how they were planning on swinging it.

    Guess I know now.
