Honeymoon?

Has anyone considered on where they are going for their honeymoon? FI and I think we want to go to Tulum, Mexico since there are Mayan ruins close to the resorts. But that's still in debate since we're still browsing. We have considered Jamaica, St.Maarten, and Barbados. Any other ideas? What are you ladies considering based on budgets?

We're going to Puerto Rico. FI is originally from there and almost all of his family is still there. I've never been and we are also going to have a party, so his family can be included with our celebration.

We also went to Xel Ha as part of the Tulum excursion, and the couple we traveled with went to Chichen Itza. I want to go on a cruise...FI wants to go to the mountains in Gatlinburg TN. I just feel like that would be more of like an anniversary trip...you don't just go on a cruise just because (well some people do but not broke people haha)That would be a weekend vacation..something you could do in 3 days or less..because you'd run out of things to do! Plus I really think we'd spend less money going the cruise route because its all inclusive except alcolhol and excursions off the boat and souvineers..if we went to the mountains we'd have to furnish the cabin with food for the week and then COOK on vacation OR eat out every meal which is super expensive!

We're going to Sandals Grande Riviera in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We knew we wanted to go to a Sandals, and the Jamaica ones were the only ones that fit into our budget. This one has 15 restaurants to choose from!!!

We would like to go to Ireland (and we will stop in England on the way home--I have a friend who's going to school there, so we would have somewhere to stay for a couple of days).

We're thinking of going to Italy and Greece in the spring. Waiting until spring gives us extra time to save up some money. Although now that I'm planning on going to grad school next year, I'm not sure if we'll have the funds for that big of a trip. Fingers crossed it'll work out!

I've been to Tulum and loved it. I also visited Xel Ha and got to swim with the dolphin's - amazing. As for the honeymoon, we're going to Ireland.

We're actually going to book our honeymoon today! We're going to Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica for 7 nights. So excited! It's an all-inclusive and they have great reviews on Trip Advisor. I can't believe we are getting it for the price we are...you should look into it! It's actually cheaper than Sandals and you get more for your money.

We're going to Lake Tahoe. We chose it because we could do a lot (hiking, biking, ziplining, ice skating, etc.), but the hotel is also a resort with a pool, spa, etc. We were also able to use miles for the flights, so we could stay in a much nicer hotel. We were looking for someplace relaxing, but like you said, where we wouldn't run out of stuff to do.

I'd like to go to Pvnta Cana or Riviera Maya. FI wants to wait a bit and save up for a trip to Italy. I just can't see going right back to work after my wedding weekend! I feel it would be a big let down after all that planning. So we continue to debate our hoenymoon.

wendyjane, I felt the same way! FI and I really wanted to go to Marseille, but we didn't want to spend that much. We thought about saving up and going later, but the thought of going back to work two days later was just horrible so we decided to stay domestic. We've traveled a lot before and we have an entire lifetime to travel afterwards. We didn't feel the need to make our honeymoon the trip of a lifetime-- just relaxing and fun.

We going to Hawaii. We both have always wanted to go and my aunt told us about a resort she visited when she was there and it looks amazing. Ever since we saw pictures nothing else can compare to it.

I'm a scuba diver and have been to a lot of places in the Caribbean so I wanted to go someone that I haven't been to before. We really wanted to go to Jamaica but I read October is one of the worst months to visit because it's their rainy season.

We decided on Riviera Maya for our honeymoon. (I've been to Cozumel but not the mainland of Mexico.) We're looking forward to spa treatments, exploring the Mayan ruins, swimming with dolphins and taking some zip-line tour of the jungle!

Thanks for the input aimeek420 on tulum. I'm pretty sure that's where we're going.
