1st dance and dress?

My dress is a large ball gown style dress. My FI and I are doing a choreographed 1st dance and he does not know any details of my dress, so I was wondering if anyone has done a choreographed dance with a large dress and how did it go? was it super tricky or did it go as planned???

Re: 1st dance and dress?

  • FI and I are practicing with my crinoline.  I will have a lot more dress on top of that, but it helps to get a little better idea.

  • What is a crinoline? That may be a stupid question, I hear it a lot but have no idea what it is.

  • they are the things you wear under your dress that give it the big poof shape. And our studio does that after our choreography is finished. im just curious how the finished product goes.lol
  • My best friend just did one this weekend, and they did a very sexy Rhumba.  They had no issues at all with her "whipped cream gown" (that's what she calls it). Just try to steal away for 10 min during the reception to practice once and give yourselves a chance to get used to dancing in the gown.

Of course, if your dress is HUGE you may want to consider alternatives like remoavable crinolin, changing into a smaller dress, etc.
