Chef Masters Promotion Vacation Giveaway

Has anyone been contacted by Chef Masters USA?  They claim a 3 day 2 night vacation if I attend a products seminar.  I can sit through an hour of demonstrations for a free vacation but don't want to get scammed.  I feel like its "too good to be true".

I have been through 2 of these "free vacation" deals and both were a disaster.  One vacation I actually took and ended up spending so much money to upgrade things that I could have had a better vacation on my own.  When I was contacted for the Chef Masters thing I made an appointment to go but after checking it out more decided I was not going to waste my time again.  Normally if it's "too good to be true" it is.
  • I had the same thing. I just decided to go ahead and book a honeymoon cause i didn't know how legit it was. usually when someone gives u something to attend something...not such a good idea. If they really wanted to give u a free vacation, they wouldn't require something in return :)
  • Its a scam, don't do it.
  • I went last night...its legit! you have to pay for your travel, but once you get to your destination, everything is paid for...even the activities you and your fiance want to do.
  • I went to the meeting last night, they didnt require anything.
  • Hello I just got called by Master Chef USA. Same thing, free trip, we pay our airfare we have to attend a cooking show tonight. Can anyone update me please???? The trip is to Mexico, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic within the next 2 years. We "won" by attending a bridal show. I did sign up to David's bridal and the Bridal Premier show grand prize which all attendees did.
  • My bad it's Che Master USA. It just sounds to good to be true and although they don't ask for any credit card information I hope this is not a scam.
  • Omg Chef Master USA. autocorrect
  • My fi and I were contacted last night that we won as well....just have to go to a cooking show for an hour and collect our prize trip.  Not sure if this is a scam or not!!!  We signed up to win a trip at one of the Bridal Booths at a show and got a call the same night that we won.  (we left before the drawing).  So we're going to the cooking show tonight and we'll see what happens.

  • I know this is an older post but does anyone have an update to their experience with the vacation pacakge? Our budget is so tiny for the wedding that ANY little bit will help and if we have to sit through a sales pitch to win a free vacation (I can use my air miles to get us there) than I'm all for it. However, we would have to drive 4 hours, one way, just to get to it, as well as take a day off from work and class. However, again, a free vacation would be worth it... if in fact it was actually real. What were your experiences? Did you take the vacation and what was your experience with it? I'm reading a lot about how people got the vacation but no one really comments on actually taking it. Please help, I never win ANYTHING!

Hi there.  I'm not sure if you've attended the show or not, but I would suggest that you don't.  My fiance and I have "won" several of these offers since becoming engaged earlier this year.  We decided to attend them all because we didn't really lose anything except a bit of time in exchange for some freebies.  After attending three different cooking presentations with the same pitch, this is why you should not go:

    1.  If it sounds too good to be true, it mostly is...

    2.  We attended Chef Master, Royal Prestige, and National Health Styles and they all had the same product.  For this to be such an exclusive item, why do three different companies have the exact same product with the exact same pitch?  More than likely, it's the same company using different names because of SCAM

    3.  We've received free vacations through Viva Wydham, some other international resorts, and some US destinations.  While I realize airfare and taxes are not included, there are many additional fees that you will encounter along the way that doesn't make it free or even a discount (Ex.  Chef Master processes their vacations through Grand Incentives.  We were given a voucher at the cooking demonstation to redeem our trip.  We then paid $4.95 to for processing to get the information to redeem our trip.  When the registration form arrived, we were asked to pay 59.95 per person per day [$480 for a 4 day/3 night trip] for processing fees.  This does not including transportation, taxes, or gratuities.  After calling to have these fees explained [There is no good explanation] and reading horror stories online, we have decided that this trip is not worth the risk.)

    4.  We have also "won" coupons, knifes, champagne flutes, and other items which all essentially have you pay for the real cost of the item in processing or handling.  The knife valued at $100 requires $10 processing--the real cost of the knife.  The flutes valued over $100 cost $20 shipping/handling--the real cost of the flutes.  The coupons required $4.95 processing fee and we were told we would have a great selection to print from online.  Instead, you must select coupons online [not a great selecton or great values], then mail a print-out of your selections in with a self-addressed stamped envelope [total $1.00 in postage each time]; then you must wait 7-10 days to get your coupons back.  You can never choose more than $20 at a time.

I said all this to say.  You are essentially paying for anything they present as free. You must be knowledgeable and pay attention to details to realize that everything they "give" you, you will ultimately being paying for it.

Go to Groupon or Living Social and find a deal there if you don't have much money.  They have great trips listed all the time; you must be ready to pay immediately when you find them though because they only last for a few days at a time.

I hope this helps someone and saves you the frustration of expecting something that you may never get.
