What bra did you/will you wear with your dress?

I'm going to try on dresses next month and I want to get a new strapless bra to wear (I need a new one anyways). I usually hate wearing them b/c I always end up having to adjust myself, but maybe I'm just not buying the right bra.

When I was in my friend's wedding the strapless bra under my dress made the fit so tight that I ended up buying those stick on bra cups that look like chicken cutlets lol. I guess that could also be an option.

What did you wear w/your dress or what are you planning to wear?

Re: What bra did you/will you wear with your dress?

  • Mine wasn't strapless, so I just wore a normal bra. Don't spend too much on a new strapless before you try on dresses, because you made need a specialty bra, and many brides just have cups sewn into the dress.
  • When I went shopping I took my own strapless bra because I don't like the long lines at the store.  I feel they made my chest more enhanced, which I DO NOT need help with, and the dresses fit funny.  I ended up going with a dress that I can't wear a bra with so I will be getting cups inserted for added support.  After trying on different styles of dresses I would recommend just getting cups sewn into the dress. It is one less thing to remember on your wedding day and is easy breezy.

  • I wore this:

It was pretty comfortable. Didn't bother me at all.
  • I'm wearing a long line bra with wire throughout the waist. I normally have problems with strapless bras/dresses, but haven't since I bought this bra at the bridal store.
  • I wore the long-line bra David's Bridal had me try it on with. I was going to find something cheaper and/or cuter, but ran out of time so I bought it.

  • If you go to David's bridal they have you try on a bra and petticoat with the dresses.  I just went ahead and ordered those with the dress.  I know they fit/work with the dress and I don't have to run around to other places trying to find something.  I personally hate bra shopping.

  • I didn't wear a bra.. But I had straps sown in to hold me up (and theres a lot to hold up!). It actually worked really well. When I went for my fittings I just wore my most comfortable bra

  • I couldn't find a bra that had a low enough back for my dress, so I had to go for the cups sewn in.  I'd prefer a little more lift, since I'm kind of larger-chested, but I'll try to work that part out later.
    This knottie's been ransacked, suckas!
  • I didn't wear a bra when I tried dresses on, and had the cups sewn into the gown I purchased.

  • I am going with cups put in my dress (it is a halter dress) but underneath I am wearing a body magic corsette.

  • I did not wear a bra either, just had cups sewn into my dress. It was great not to have to worry about my bra falling down or sticking out of my dress.
  • I went to lady grace and had the fit me ( I guess I was wearing the wrong size bra)  But I cought a long ling that goes to about the waist with boning.  It is realy nice
  • You probably are wearing the wrong size strapless bra. Since you're in Chicago, I'd head to Intimacy (they're on Michigan Ave) for a good bra fitting

  • I'm also having cups sewn into the dress.  How tacky to have a bit of bra show at just the wrong moment. Yikes!
  • I wasn't going to wear a bra, but then when I went to my first fitting the dress was so huge on top even taking it in won't help enough for support, so I am wearing a Wacoal strapless.  It fits great!
  • I had cups sewn in. best decision ever.
