Turks and Caicos honeyoon August Advice

Hi,
So after much research and feeling lost in the sea of options I am now leaning towards Turks and Caicos for our late August honeymoon- in particular the Royal West Indies Resort.
I would LOVE advice if anyone has been to T&C in late August regarding weather etc and the resort in general.

It seems like a nice resort- not too expensive and sounds like guests really visit/use the island to eat and explore unlike some resorts where its either unsafe or unnecessary to leave the complex.

much appreicated! Tough decisions!

  • We are going to Turks and Caicos for our July HM! We decided to stay at The Sands, but looked into the Royal West Indies too! We ended up getting a good deal at the Sands on Expedia. Although we haven't gone on our HM yet, we decided on Turks b/c of the beach and relaxation factor. It's definitely a place where there is not a lot of nightlife and is on the quiet side. And I agree with you about the safety.. Turks seems very safe and people visit tons of different restaurants and venture into town.  I read a TON of reviews on TripAdvisor about the island. It's also not as developed as other islands which is nice IMO. Two of my coworkers have gone to Turks and they both really loved it.  We did purchase travel insurance through expedia just in case. We figured better safe than sorry!

I wish I could be more helpful! If you do decided to go to Turks, I would be more than happy to let you know how our HM was when we get back! We are leaving in just over a month :)

My FI and I spent a week in Turks this past January - - by far our best vacation yet. We stayed at Ocean Club West, but I think Royal West Indies and The Sands are great choices too.  (We picked OCW because we wanted a screened in patio and it is walking distance to the grocery store).  We had a condo at OCW which had a kitchen, so we stocked up on breakfast / lunch foods for the week, then splurged on nice dinners out.

The island is quiet - - not a lot of nightlife, but we were looking for a relaxing vacation and we got it.  There are amazing restaurants on the island.  Our favorites were Bay Bistro at the Sibonne Resort and CoCo Bistro, which is off of Grace Bay Road.  I called and emailed in advance and made reservations at these restaurants - - if you go to Bay Bistro, ask for one of the awesome tables on the beach.  Very romantic.  We didn't rent a car but walked everywhere and took taxis as well.  I found the island to be very safe.  And the beaches there are amazing!  You guys are going to have a great time!
