I am just so sad. He was part of my youth, listening to the Tiger games on my transistor radio, under my pillow

RIP Ernie.

    It is so sad.  I was an average Harwell fan, think he's an awesome part of Detroit, but I cried last night.  My grandfather recently passed away and he LOVED Ernie.  I just felt like another piece of my grandpa had left.  Sad.  And on top of my personal feelings, Mr. Harwell was a shining star for the city!

    I am so sad. They showed his farewell address on mlb network last night, and I cried like a little baby. I loved Ernie. He will definitely be missed by all of Detroit.
