Ordering Spices- Please Help

I want to give spices as my favor at the reception. It's easy to find jars, but I am not sure where to order the spices from. I need them in bulk and at a reasonable price.

Does anyone know where I could order them online or locally?

Thanks!

Well I plan on buying little jars. I know they sell them at Ikea. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40064702

I want to fill them with different spices and make a sticker with our name and date for the lid.

What do you think? Any ideas to add to that?

BTW our weddings are a week apart.

    Thanks!

Very cute! I love the idea of giving each guest my favorite spice combinations... I was thinking of something like this- http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/03/25/diy-project-spice-jar-favors/

I'm just not sure if it wouldn't just be cheaper to do something easier... haven't decided!

    Where are you getting married?

That is a very cute idea! Although it looks like it is very time consuming.

I love idea of giving spices too. We love too cook, and it kind of what we are known for amoung our friends.

Do you know what tools are needed to make the stickers? I was wondering how I would do that for my jars.

I found this website for bulk spices. Seems pretty reasonable.

I actually have NO idea what tools I need- terrifying! I think that article I posted explains it.. I havent looked in awhile!

I am also a big cook and for the past year, everyone knows fiance and I have been on a health cook, no eating out, cooking everything kick.. so we have racked up a few great steak rubs, and spice combos....

Our wedding is at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem. A cruise is such a cool idea!

Thanks! It was actually surpising affordable.

My fiance is really the cook but we love to eat in too. We eat out not and then but we really prefer home cooked food. It is so much healthier than take out or frozen meals!

If I find more info I'll keep you updated!

There's a Penzey's shop right by my old apartment in CT. I'm sure if you google something like "spice blends" you could find a number of different combinations. Maybe pick something that you think would be most commonly enjoyed, with peppers and garlic and savory herbs. Yum!

Another good place for bulk spices is Frontier -- http://www.frontiercoop.com/

That's where a lot of the bulk and non-bulk spices at Whole Foods come from -- and I've ordered bulk from there before.  They're great, and they often have discounts.

Have you checked you Christina's in Inman Sq?  They have every spice I've ever heard of and some I've never imagined.  You walk into the store and it's like the scent of heaven.  I bet they could bulk order anything you need and give you tips on blending, etc.
