Maggie Sottero & Lace

Does anyone have an opinion/experience with Maggie Sottero gowns?  I hear good things so far but I would like to hear from anyone that has gotten a Maggie gown and what they thought.  I'm thinking of this gown (Vienna) and I loved it on me.  After trying on over 100 gowns so far - this is the first one that has really got my attention.  It's also in all lace with beading.  For an outdoor wedding, would lace be a good choice?  Thanks for your help!

Re: Maggie Sottero & Lace

  • I think this would work very well for an outdoor wedding! I love Maggie Sottero gowns, personally. I've ordered one myself! This dress is really gorgeous that you have chosen, I love the lace!
  • The only thing with Maggie Sottero, as well as Sottero & Midgley, is there lace dresses are incredibly heavy.  I had 2 lace/beaded dresses picked out at bridal store, 1 from each designer, and they were really heavy and hard to walk in on the carpet b/c the train just clung to it like velcro!  My church has a carpeted isle, so that was a major concern.
I ended up finding another lace dress from a different designer, that was much much prettier and not heavy at all.
    Just something to think about!

I had a Maggie beaded lace gown (Jessica - pic below).  Loved it.  I didn't think it was heavy at all.  I think your pick yould be lovely for an outdoor wedding.

  • That gown is gorgeous!

I've never really heard a bad thing about Maggie gowns.  I'll be wearing Natalie (recently discontinued, I think) and I don't think it's heavy at all.

  • Maggie's were actually my top pick when I went to try on dresses. I was also mostly focused on lace. I tried a couple Maggie's, and thought the Karena Royale was gorgeous on. But, I have a large chest and with the strapless and corset back as soon as I sat down I looked like a linebacker. Everything shifted up...haha. I'm guessing it's because of the corset back and the thick lace.

I ended up going with a beautiful lace gown from Allure. I loved the fit, color, and the fact that it was lighter.
  • Different Dress!  I picked the Karena Royale instead.  This dress completely over-shadowed the Vienna!
