I'm the same way! If someone else were to pay for my dress, I would probably find a cheaper one so it wouldn't cost them a lot! I am willing to spend a little more if it is my own money, but I don't like to take advantage of people...especially my family members!

Me too. If we had only our parents money to use we probably would have used the church and had cake and punch.

I really feel horrible about spending other people's money...even when they insist.

Completely off topic, but I would like to do a PSA about dental health. Please brush, floss and get cleanings regularly. Flossing sucks, yes I know as does going to the dentist but just keep up with it.

I will add to this. Bathing regularly is a pleasant experience. It makes you more appealing to talk to and you won't put off an odor that people find so offensive they never want to talk to you. It may also make you more popular.

Speaking of SYTTD, I saw an older episode during the snow days of this girl who had been dreaming of her wedding day for forever, and who picked out the venue and her ring before her boyfriend even proposed. At the end of the episode, there was a disclaimer saying that a month after she bought her dress, the wedding was called off.

What a shocker.

I'm equally as cheap either way.
I told my Dad (jokingly) I was going to go to Stardust to get a dress. Once I explained to him what it was he said "Okay, Go ahead." I just said "There is no way I'm spending that much on ONE dress. I'm perfectly fine with AA!"
I did see a girl on SYTTD who at the end of her appointment got a blank check from her Mom...Much to my pleseant surprise she didn't get the most expensive dress!

This reminds me. You all know that girl in DFW who booked everything but the groom and was going to get married next week? She was supposed to be on some big talk show and now I can't think of what it is. Dr. Phil, maybe? "What are you thinking?"

Stephanie -- I remember that girl! She was saying how people told her it was bad luck to start planning for her wedding before he offically proposed. Then it was called off the month before! I saw this when I was in the same situation and on TK. I keep wondering if it would happen to me! I don't see it happening now, but I'm silly and still think of it.

I flame people in the wedding industry (or in LIFE for that matter) who think that after waiting a month and a half to reply to an email that they think they'd still be considered as a vendor, or that I would consider someone that they work closely with.
Sorry, someone who replied to me immediately was who I booked. Come to think of it, I forgot all about you anyway. The fact that you just responded after that long makes me more angry than your non-reply. If you want to book business, stay on top of your ish. If you don't care, then keep on doin what you're doin, your name can only take you so far in this life.
