Wedding Woes

Will never use Etsy again : (

Ok so never using Etsy again might be a little extreme but I am so unhappy and so stressed out right now. This is more of a vent...I just need to blow off some steam!
So I bought this cute matching set off of Etsy...a matching ring pillow, flower girl basket, guest book and pen. Production time is supposed to be 4-6 weeks. I placed my order 2 months ago and still have not received anything!

I logged onto etsy to check out this seller's site again. She had nothing but good reviews when I first made my purchase but starting about a week after I made my purchase, the reviews all started going south. Everyone was complaining about not receiving their orders on time and the items being poorly made. I mean I guess this is a risk you have to take when you order online from etsy. But now I can't get a hold of the seller and I still have no items. And her site says no refunds! Am I just out that $140 I spent?? Uuggh, I am so mad! And now my FI is angry that I went through Etsy in the first place and we are out that money!

I know there are bound to be bumps along the way of planning but this was not expected at all!!

    you paid through paypal, right?
    so contact paypal and start a dispute.  ASAP.

    That's why you pay w/ a 3rd party, not Etsy.

    didhave you contacted the seller?
    did you pay with PayPal? (if so, you can dispute the payment)

    ... and $140 american dollars for a ring pillow, flower girl basket, guest book and pen? I'll do it for material cost + $50 for my time. (ETA - I'm clearly in the wrong line of work and need to get my etsy store going ASAP)

    You do realize that Etsy is an aggregate of independent sellers, right? Just because one seller's schitty doesn't mean they all are.

    OH yes I do realize that...not all the sellers on there are bad if I had one bad experience....but in a situation like this where I really need the items then it just makes me feel uneasy about using it again. I definitely won't be using the same seller again!

    I did pay through paypal...I will look into disputing the transaction through them! Thank you for that info!

    Awww...that sux, I have always had good experiences with etsy and like to support handmade, but i suppose there are bound to be a few bad apples in there.  The thing that really sux is that you were careful enough to check the seller's reviews but still got burned...that's rough.  If you already tried contacting the seller to no avail, then I'd do like PP said and dispute the paypal transaction ASAP.  Hope you get your $$ back!

    So bad news bears...I contacted paypal and they say it's past the 45 days since I paid and I can't dispute the transaction. They can still file a claim but I'm not getting my money back! I filed a non-delivery claim through etsy too and then, only then, does the seller contact me and tell me the items will ship within a week....uh huh, we'll see about that.
