  Ditto bbyckes.  I don't think its a wise idea to go without them. I think that is just asking for chaos and more stress.
  
  Yes, tracking down people who don't rsvp is a PITA, but much better than not knowing anything IMO. Plus, most venues need to know for food a few weeks in advance.

  i'm not doing rsvp cards mainly because i know most people won't send them back. i will either use a wedding web site and will include my email address for guests to rsvp. and i will clearly mark this on the invitation. i would not force people to call me as that's pretty inconvenient. the last couple of weddings i've been to did not have cards for rsvp. just web site or email. i like this idea as i hate sending cards back anyways. i know our families would just tell us if they are coming and what their menu choice is. and our friends are all about email so they would just email us easily. so to me rsvp cards/postage just waste money and paper.
  
  i do think it's weird that on your invite there was no indication of calling. it is disorganized and they will have trouble figuring out numbers as they will have to follow up with a lot of people.

  How can you <em>hate</em> sending back a card? At most, you have to fill in your name and check a dinner option, then pop it in the mailbox.
