Wow.. I had wondered about the effects of Seasonique and other BC's like that.   That's good to know, Rene.

Personally, as much of a pain as the monthly visitor is, I quite like to see it!   I'd probably be a nervous wreck for 3 months on Seasonique.  I mean what if something happened and you got PG in month 1?  Is it possible that you wouldn't even know for 2 more months?

I think they are very suspicious... but they posted something about selling "her" wedding items, so I can't be certain.

This has been my biggest fear!  We aren't trying to get pregnant right now but BC is the only thing we are doing and the last few months have been so stressful with my step-dad dying, the wedding, 2 more funerals and all that that I haven't been the most accurate with my pill taking.  I've been so worried that I'd not know until 2 months in and the baby would have birth defects.  So far I have had spotting every month since I have been on Seasonique.  It is usually the 2-3 day into my next month of pills.  I also cramp and get bloated so I kinda know when I "should" be starting even though I skip that month.  If something was to change from that I think I would stop taking it until I knew for sure.

This is me exactly if I am 3 days late I am taking an early pregnancy test just to be sure and I will keep taking them until I get my visitor.

i'm an extremely paranoid person, and i can't stand the thought of something like that happening, and me being one of the factors that could have prevented it. When i was on the shot i hardly had a cycle at all...and spotting was few and far between...it didn't help that i couldnt go more than a week with out feeling sick to my stomach. certain foods and things would hit my nose and immediately i'd be nausous. if i ever go out drinking drinking...i always take a test prior to. i swear my whole two years on the shot i kept walmart and CVS afloat just on my own and purchasing HPT...that probably makes me sound crazy...haha. but that's just the only thing that kept me sane :)

The same thing happened to me when I was on Seasonique.  I had spotting every time and I always felt like I was going to have a period, but wouldn't actually have one.

    Back to FFF:

Dear Homeowners -  Dude!  The housing market sucks big time and two of you won't let me ee your house on Saturday.   There is really not 15 minutes of your ENTIRE day that you could leave so I could look and possibly buy your home?

Fine... I'll just buy someone elses.   Good Luck to ya!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: FFF : This is the primary reason why I stopped taking BCP altogether.. because I didn't know what the long term affects would be on my body. I read in some places that taking BCP for more than 5 years, increases your chances of certain cancers while of course my doctor said it helped reduce chances of a different kind of cancer. In short, I decided against taking something that altered my body's natural function to any degree. I know that may seem extreme, but it felt like the right thing for me.

I also stopped taking hormonal birth control about four years ago.  There were a number of reasons, but mostly because there is so little consensus and research on the long-term effects.  So now we use fertility awareness, and it's been effective so far.  It's kind of complicated at first, but you basically get used to it, and I like that it lets me know what's going on with my body.

This is Jay+Marissa by the way...I'm not sure why I got signed out and I'm too lazy to sign in with my correct screen name.

Just going to put this out there...NFP/FAM is free, no side effects whatsoever, you have the ability to decide if you want a child every month, effective if you use it correctly (yes, there are statistics to back it up) you pretty much know the exact day your period is coming (sometimes I can even narrow it down to a 4-6 hour period), it can help you figure out underlying gyn-related problems, it can really help you conceive when you are TTC,  and they don't call the post-fertile phase the "honeymoon period" for nothing...Wink
