Of a time you were forgotten or left in an embarrassing situation. Either by friends/family/SO. I'll start.

When I was 13, I went to have my wisdom teeth removed. My mom took me to the dentist, and then left. Unfortunately, she was gone a lot longer than it took for my removal, and I ended up spending almost an hour sitting in the waiting room for her to come back. The whole time, I was stuck in the waiting room, drooling blood, mouth packed full of gauze, and half knocked out. I was sooo angry that she left me there.

Here's one that's happening right now! I'm at my apartment watching a locksmith break into my apartment. My landlord is on vacation and I don't have a spare key hidden outside my apartment. ExFI has a key still but he's busy at work and can't help me. $65 later and I will be inside. Soon hopefully.

We went to Disney world when I was 3. We got stuck in a crush of people and my parents thought they "signaled" to one another via head bobs that the other was going to hold onto me. Um the message got confused and both didn't hold my hand.

I wandered over to it is a small world and was completely entertained. My parents went crazy for a good hour. To pay them back I sang the freakin song the rest of the trip.

I had a medical procedure done a year ago. When I woke up, I really had to pee, but the nurse wouldn't let me go to the bathroom until I could at least sit up on my own and until I woke up a little more. She left me in the room. I figured if I was sitting up when she came back, that would impress her enough so she'd let me go. I tried to sit up, but in my sedated state, I only managed to roll onto my stomach and fall so that I was draped over the side bar of the bed. When the nurse walked in, I was hanging over the bed, sedated and practically crying because I knew I was in an awkward position, but I had no idea how to get out of it.

haha, aw. Poor lil 'Moro.

I don't have a good left behind story. But a friend and I once thought it would be an AWESOME idea to wander into the woods, spin around and then just walk straight. It was all fun and games at first until it started to get dark and we were so lost. We ended up (finally!) getting out of the woods and had to walk about a mile back home through the woods.

Oh! Or when I was about 10, we had a skidoo and it was just parked and a bunch of snow had just fallen so I sat on the back of the skidoo and fell backwards. Idiot move, I know. So I was crying but my mom was leaving and she thought I was faking it so she still left, with me crying. About 15 minutes later we left on the skidoo to go to a friend's house and I took off my helmet and I was bleeding. My father tried to get me to go to the hospital but I cried my way out of that. My mom still feels so bad about it.

Embarrassing situations define my life. A few years ago I went on my first official vacation with my (now ex) boyfriend. I wore my beloved Juicy Couture sweatpants to the airport and you know, I was supther excited to 'show them off' or something. Anyhoo they were too long and the bottom part of the sweatpants got stuck in the escalator and the escalator started eating my pants! My BF hit a button to turn the escalator off but I was stuck on it with my pants all gobbled up! This was at Newark airport so you know tons of people were watching, laughing and yelling because they now had to walk up the stairs while I stood there watching and waiting for help. An employee eventually came over and got me loose but my pants had a giant hole in them and were stained completely black.

Oh this is a good one. In June a dump truck rear ended my car & totaled it. A nice state trooper said he would give me a ride home (I lived nearby) so I wouldn't have to accept a ride from the tow truck man who had 1 tooth. I'm socially awkward so it was a painful ride to my house trying to make small talk and whatnot with the cop, I just couldn't wait to get out of his car. We get to my house and I realize the tow truck has my car keys which have my house keys on them. I have no way to get in, no spare key & FI was working far away. For some reason FI left the kitchen window cracked and I was able to break into my own house, pull myself up threw the window, in a pencil skirt, in front of a cop. I wanted to die.

I don't have one for me, but my brother once wandered off and scared the crap out of us. He used to do this weird sleepwalking thing where you'd swear he was awake. We were "camping" in an RV once and in the middle of the night he sleptwalked outside the RV and stood in the middle of the road. We woke up to him screaming "DAD! Where are you? I have to go potty and you have to take me!"

In 5th grade my safety patrol group went to Washington DC - we were in the Smithsonian museum of American History and we were in some section where you could either play with an interactive exhibit or go watch a short movie. For some reason I didn't want to do either of those things becasue I was enamored by Fonzie's leather jacket and his motorcycle.

I was standing there, staring at the Fonz's memorabilia so long that a teacher who had gone to talk to a museum administrator saw me and freaked out. The whole group of had gone on to another part of the museum and I was all alone. The teachers kept tabs on me the whole rest of the trip (4 more days and about 10 more museums). People from 5th grade still make mention of how I had to have a "teacher buddy" in DC in 5th grade. Stupid Fonzie.

Oh babestate, what a horrible experience that must have been. I'm sorry to say it, but I'm laughing pretty hard at that image.

My "left behind" story is also the story of how I got my first tattoo. I went with a friend to get hers and when the guy finished she opened her wallet and realized she didn't have any money. She drove to an ATM and left me behind as collateral. She was gone for OVER AN HOUR. By the time she got back I had picked out a design and everything.

Now I'm just remembering more & more. I was out to lunch with my boss & a client and I noticed the client looking at my boss weird. I turned to look at him and his dress shirt was unbuttoned and his belly was showing! OMG. It was so gross and so hard to not laugh. And then what do I do? Quietly try to tell him he is exposing his belly to the client or let him finish lunch and then tell him he exposed his belly to the client? I thought I could make it funny and not so awkward so I was like oh, hey boss look down and he did, turned red but fixed it.

OK, it doesn't involve being forgotten or left behind, but it's embarrassing nonetheless...

There's this movie theater around here that does beer tastings at movie screenings, and H and I have been to several. The first one we went to was a couple of years ago, for a screening of Strange Brew. We drank all the beers and then when the movie was playing, predictably I had to go to the bathroom. When I came back from the bathroom I was a bit tipsy and I thought I'd be nice and crouch down low while I was getting to my seat, so as not to block the view for the people behind me. I put my arm on the seat to steady myself, but being a movie theater seat, my arm went straight through the back of the seat and I went crashing onto the floor. The people behind me were staring in horror but all I could do was laugh. H was trying to get me off the floor but I was laughing too hard to move. I got a nasty bruise from that one!

Oh, and that also just reminded me of the time I wiped out on the El in Chicago during rush hour. The train pulled away before I had grabbed onto one of the poles and I went down on my knees on the train. Apparently a nice older man was trying to help me up but I was flailing around too much. And of course I was laughing too hard to get myself up, as was my roommate who was with me.

When I was about 6 or 7 we went to the races in Edmonton. (Sprint car races)

I had to pee so my mom asked my dad to take me. He went to the bathroom too and when he got out of the bathroom he must have forgotten that he came with me and he went back to the stands/bleachers. My mom goes, "where's manda?" And he was like "OHSHIT!"

I come out of the bathroom and don't see him anywhere. I start to panic. And then all of a sudden I see him running towards me.

Here's a funny one that I was too young to have a memory of: My whole family went bicycling when I was a little kid. My sister, who is ten years older than me, has always been very parental toward me, so she was the one who strapped my kid-seat on the back of her bike. I guess she must have hit a bump at some point or something happened that the bike was going to fall over so she instinctively jumped off it... only to watch as it passed her with me still strapped on the back.

I had to have an endoscopy when I was 20-ish and they gave me heavy "conscious sedation" so when I was done, I was alert and totally normal, but apparently having really bad short term memory problems. My dad took to me Happy Harry's to get a prescription and his phone rang so he told me he was going to step outside to talk. I came wandering out 5 minutes later, panicked, because I didn't know where he'd gone.

I got separated from my mom on the boardwalk in OCMD once when I was about 7 or 8. I ended up sidling up to a woman wearing the same jacket as my mom and hugging her. TOTALLY embarassed when I realized it wasn't my mom.

When I was maybe 10 or so, my mom and I were at a fair or somewhere with those big swing things that go around in a circle, you know? I freakin' loved those things. Anyway, the ride operator (who was probably 16) told me to go around the other side and wait for her to put me in a chair (I was really tiny). So I did. And then the chairs started going around and spinning out and I had to edge my way around the platform dodging chairs. My mom was LIVID about that one.

I'm sure there's more....

I have three younger sisters, the oldest of which got married last fall. The rest of us were her bridesmaids. After the wedding and after she and her new husband were done with the receiving line, we (the bridesmaids) went down to the dressing area to clean everything up and gather all of our things together.

The venue for the reception was a couple blocks away so my sister didn't really arrange for any grand transportation for the wedding party. We were just going to go there the way we came (and we came with our parents).

So we came up and the entire church was empty. We were down there maybe five minutes. Wtf? We walked all over the church, nothing, no one. I called my sister and my mom on their cells. No answer.

Fifteen minutes later, my mom called me. "Where are you girls! We're waiting for you so you guys can enter the reception." Yeah, uh, you guys left us here!

We would have walked except it was freezing outside, none of us had our coats (they were in the car) and we all had a bunch of crap with us that we were taking from the basement.

So yeah, we were the three forgotten bridesmaids. Sad. My dad came to get us.

I had a duo endoscopy/colonoscopy procedure when I was like 18. My dad ended up taking me for the procedure to get done. They have to put me under heavy sedation because I kick and thrash when I'm just under normal light sedation. When I woke up consiously from sedation, I was back at home laying on my pullout couch in pajamas. Here are the list of events that happened (according to my father) from coming out of the procedure until when I was consious. (I have no recollection of any of this happening)
- Woke up... but had limited use of my entire body because I was so heavily drugged.
-My father had to dress me, panties bra and all because I couldn't function.
-I was hungry so I asked him to take me to wendy's because i wanted a crispy chicken sandwhich with provolone cheese.
-Drove to Wendy's (Dad drove, I passangered it up)
-Turns out they don't have provolone cheese
- I cried for 5 minutes because I wanted provolone cheese
- Dad drove to grocery store and left me drooling in the car with the windows down like a dog while he ran inside and bought cheese
-Drove home
- Ate 3 bites of my sandwhich
-Talked to my mom on the phone (she was visiting her sister)
-Passed out on the couch.

When I woke up, I was very nauseous from the anesthesia, so I went and vomited and noticed lettuce in it (was on a jello/liquid diet for 3 days prior) I asked me dad what happened and he told me the above events. He laughed. I ate the rest of my sandwhich.

I was very confused and I no longer like being sedated for anything.

Sep, that is AMAZING lol. When I had my tosnils taken out I had something similar happen, I was 22 and apparently getting your tonsils taken out later in life is more difficult. Anyway, my friend Cassie told me on FB that she was going to come visit (I saw this just before surgery, so I was excited) - that evening - eventhough I was heavily sedated she came to see me.

I'm told that not only did I hug her, I made her get in bed with me and "read me a story" - AND she brought 2 friends with her (that I knew, but not well) and I kept asking her why she brought strangers to see me when I was "dying."

The next day, I got on facebook and wrote on her wall that I was totally bummed she didn't come see me. Little did I know that she, in fact, HAD come to see me and took video of me while I was knocked out -which was then plastered on FB for everyone to see. aaah...memories.
