Flower Costs

Hi ladies.  I'm finally meeting with florists to discuss flowers for our summer wedding, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some prices on what I should expect to pay?  At this point I'm looking for a bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 8 boutonnieres, 2 corsages, 1 flower girl.  I think all of our centerpieces will be non-floral.  I know prices will range greatly depending on type of flower, which I'm not sure on yet (I'm thinking mostly white - maybe roses or peonies with some pops of green?)  TIA!

Re: Flower Costs

  • I've heard that a bridal bouquet can range anywhere from $100-$150. BM bouquets can be up to $100. $30 for boutonnieres & corsages. I have no idea for FG stuff.

Figures are just based on what I've heard, not from personal experience since I'm doing fake flowers.

  • Would you ever consider DIY? We did everything, including 14 centerpieces, for $400 on our own buying in bulk from Sams Club. You could probably do yours for $200 or less that way.

  • I paid $175 for my bouquet (orchids, calla Lilies, white roses, dutch blue hydrangeas)
$60/ea for my BM (small clutch bouquet of callas)
$8/ea for boutonnieres (they were supposed to be callas, but she gave me orchids by accident for the same price)
    $10/ea for corsages (pin-on orchids)

I also paid $100 for rental of vases and set up of my DIY centerpieces

Total spent on flowers was $550

  • Thanks ladies!  Greysquirrel - I think that is a great idea, but have zero experience with floral bouquets.  Also I'm a bit considered on timing closer to the wedding and who will be doing everything (like decorating!)  I'd love to hear more about how you made everything work - your wedding looks gorgeous!

  • My bouquet is $105, each bridesmaid bouquet is $40, wrist corsage is $20, and each bout I'm paying $9. Your price will vary depending on what type of flowers they use. If you are trying to lower your floral cost my best advice is don't be picky with what flowers your florist uses! Many florists then are willing to add extra fillers that they have on hand too because they know you aren't picky and will be okay with it. My florist has been great to work with and is willing to work with any budget. The only flowers I'm doing is for the bridal party and my centerpieces for tables are non-floral so that helped save a bunch! My florist is Debruyn Designs if you want to check her out. I checked with 3 other companies on top of hers and she was the cheapest and I got the most amount of flowers too and better quality.
