Mini Pie in a Jar as favors

Just wanted to share what we are doing for our favors for our wedding.

We are having an outdoor Southern/Country themed wedding and are making mini apple pies like these ones for our guest to take home:

    Ohh, I just made these for work.

    Are you going to cook them before hand? Or do you have some magical ways of keeping them frozen? But they are WAY cute.

    How did they turn out?

    We are making some tomorrow to perfect them before the wedding.

    I had planned on freezing them (not cooked) and keeping them frozen until the reception. Maybe have my DOC put them out right before people leave. Not sure yet. I think they would be ok if they are frozen. I would have a tag to keep refrigerated until cooking. Something to that affect!

    They looked really cute! But I have yet to find the right thickness of the crust. I made one too thick and it didn't cook all the way through. and then I made one too thin and my FI complained that there wasn't enough crust.

    that is the cutest idea ever!!!  what a great find.  i'm sure that you can freeze them and then have someone bring them out before guests leave.  amazing!!!
