How early did you send STDs?

I am getting married in my hometown, but now live 3 hours away. Some of FI's family will be coming from 12 hours away. We even have a few guests coming from the other side of the country. Most of my family and friends still live in my hometown, so they are already there. Right now, I am 10 months out. How early or late should I send my STDs?

    We sent ours about 8 months before the wedding.  6-9 months before is standard, up to 12 months.

    We're sending a year in advance but that's because we're having a destination wedding, and its a flight for anyone who attends (my fam is in CA, his fam is in NJ and NC, and we're getting married in FL.) This is just to make sure everyone can save money, get the time off and watch flight prices :)
    In most other situations though, if its a holiday weekend I'd go on the longer side or 9 months, if its not 6 months seem fine.
