Childhood wedding songs

Since it's slow (and not just today ... where's everyone been lately?), I saw this on the Etiquette board and thought it'd get some funny responses:

When you were young, was there a song that you loved and thought, "That will TOTALLY be my wedding song someday!"?

For me, it was that Diana Ross song at the end of the original "The Land Before Time" movie (If We Hold On Together).

Anyone else have something?

"Stand by Me" was one of my personal front-runners, but MH really had his heart set on "Nothing Else Matters," so I agreed to that because (a) he really wanted it and he didn't ask for a whole lot with the planning, and (b) I love that song as well so it wasn't like a sacrifice or anything. I was also considering it for the father/daughter song but my dad picked something else. I put "Stand by Me" on our must-play list and it wasn't played, but no biggie.

"At the Beginning'" is another one I loved.

I always hated "Butterfly Kisses" for some reason.

Ha....I actually never had that thought. I never really dreamed of what my wedding would be like.  Just more of dreamed of what it would be like to fall in love.

I definitely didn't think of any of this stuff until I was an adult!  And even then, until I was engaged basically the only thing I thought about weddings was that I liked outdoor ones.

At Last by Etta James. We are not doing it but I have always loved the song. I still do but I feel like I have heard it at plenty of weddings!

Butterfly Kisses= not my thing, either, & not just because I have a butterfly phobia
     :-/
My dad gave me a music box when I was little tht played "Sunrise, Sunset' from Fiddler on the Roof; I loved it & always thought I would dance to that with my Dad if I were to get married (Dad passed in '96).

When I first heard "Lean On Me" (80's?) I KNEW I would choose a dance with my brother to that song. We did, it was fun & touching & we laughed the whole time as I bassically sang it to him instead of danced (I'm not much of a dancer).

Love songs for a husband? I guess for a long time I just thought I'd be a contented old Cat Lady (I may still be: DH will leave me if I accumulate more pets ;-) )  so...despite what I've mentioned, i never thought ALL that much about a wedding, really!

I never thought about my wedding as a kid, either (sometimes I thought I'd never get married at all, up until maybe college), but the Land Before Time song was really the only thing I ever thought about re: weddings.

Probably too many. I was a romantic little thing, obsessed with Romeo & Juliet and love stories left and right. I think I had at least one song a year... and maybe more. I think I've plum forgotten most.

I'm positive one was "My Heart Will Go On," because I was a Leomaniac (Ok, I still am, sorta), and... ugh. That's pretty much going on the the DO NOT PLAY list.
