Kind of poll

Re: Kind of poll

  • How much money do you spend on your hair? Haircut/dye/whatever
It's about $50 to get it cut, and about $120 if I get highlights.  I've been slacking on doing anything with my hair recently, so it's been since September since I've done anything.

Do you walk around your house nude? I ask because I saw this poll on the nest and everyone was like, "I LOVE BEING NUDE AT HOME!" Not usually.  Occasionally running from the shower if I forgot clothes in the bedroom, but I'm not one to lounge around naked.

And re: cooking naked and getting stuff burned...wasn't there a Friends episode where Joey talks about cooking naked and worrying about the bacon grease?
  • I spend $55 for a cut every 8 weeks or so.  I haven't gotten highlights in about 8 years.

I rarely go naked in the house, and that's mostly between the bedroom and bathroom (which is right across the hallway).  And I definitely wouldn't cook naked - that's just asking for trouble!

I kind of remember something like that!

Now that I'm blonde again, I spend $100-120 every few months on cut, highlights, lowlights, blowout, eyebrow/lip wax, and tip.

I love being naked, but I spend less and less time in the nude.  I still spend a lot of time topless around the house when it's warm.  I've never paid attention to the windows...I doubt anyone can see in, or that they'd be trying to see in anyways.

I hottub in the nude at my parent's house when they're already in bed, and I used to hottub and/or steam nude at my sister's house with anyone else who was also hottubbing (sp?) or in the steamer.  I've cooked in the nude - never had any problems with hot oil or anything.  My only concern is being too cold, so it's less likely that I'd be making drinks that involve ice in the nude these days.
  • Nude hottubbing doesn't sound too bad  :P

    image
  • It's awesome in the wintertime if the hottub is outside, and your hair is frozen, and you've got someone else to go fill your drink for you.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it was the one where Monica leaves and Rachel walks around the apartment naked, and Ross sees her and thinks it's for him...but I wish I remembered what Joey actually said.  I remember he had something really funny about bacon grease.

Edit: nude hottubbing doesn't sound too bad--but I'm thinking it would be a solo/FI only activity.  And hopefully FI would be refilling my drink if it were cold :-)
  • Oh yeah, I bet! I am going to have a hot tub one day!

  • Oh yeah, it would only be my H and I in the hot tub!

J is a CPO (Certified Pool Operator) and can tell some nasty stories about what's found in hot tubs.

ETA: We won't use them until we buy one. It's that gross.
  • Oh you will have to tell us some of those stories!

  • Ricks, we're talking floating skin (to start).
  • $80 for a cut, as many colors as I want, shampoo, scalp massage, style and generous tip.

    And...sometimes.  But not often.

I think my cuts are about $30; when I do foils, it adds about $70. Eyebrow waxing is about $12

Do you walk around your house nude?
Yeah, no. But it did take me a while to realize the bathroom blinds were flipped open, so when I was changing when it was dark, I was providing a free waist-up peep show to anyone leaving the Kum n Go or McDonald's. They were shut pretty quickly after that.
I will go out into the backyard in my pajamas, though.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • Think about it, Ricks. A hot tub is basically human stew. So, no, not like scab skin.
  • Okay, maybe these stories should be saved until Halloween! :P I am imagining someone being boiled in a hot tub.

Missy, this is right up our ally!

  • Yeah, it's pretty gnarly.

  • I wish we had a KUM n GO around here, don't you, Tide?

  • $75 with tip for a color, $125 if I do a color and cut. I have been having it colored every 5 weeks because it is prematurely grey, but I have been growing it out for the wedding so I have only cut it once in the last 3 - 4 months or so.

  • Oh yeah, and no walking around the house nekkid. We have a lot of big windows and the houses are close together.

Well, with my awesome hairdresser back home it was $70 to have it cut, highlighted and my eyebrows done. Down here its like $120, thats part of the reason I dyed it dark, I got tired of paying. Now I get $12 trims at super cuts.

Do you walk around your house nude? I ask because I saw this poll on the nest and everyone was like, "I LOVE BEING NUDE AT HOME!" Yes or at least in my undergarments. T knows as soon as I get home the pants/ skirt comes off. No pants is so much better than pants.
  • About $80/$85 for highlights and a trim... the highlights are new, not evidenced below.

And uh, yeah.. all the time actually haha.  Even when cooking.  Haven't been burned yet!  But I am wearing clothes at the moment ;)

My hair It is long and layered, so I only get it cut about twice a year for $50 a pop.  I don't color it.  I am waiting for my first gray hair to start that business.

    This will be TMI!!

I am naked all the time.  In LOVE aprons, and in the kitchen I wear them if I decide to cook and happen to be in that condition.  I also keep "hiney blankets" folded behind the couch because I won't sit on the furniture with my bare butt.  I have these fears that my Grandmother will be sitting where my buttcheeks were, so I have to sit on the blankets.  If FI ever tries to sit on the furniture, I yell "MOMMOM!" and he grabs a blanket.

  • How much money do you spend on your hair? Haircut/dye/whatever  Maybe $50 every few months for a cut, $100+ twice a year for highlights.  I do an aveda salon, so it's spendy, which FI doesn't like, but I like aveda cause it's a MN company.

Do you walk around your house nude? I ask because I saw this poll on the nest and everyone was like, "I LOVE BEING NUDE AT HOME!"   I totally walk around nude whenever I feel like it at home, provided the shades are down.
  • My friend does my hair so I give her $100 bucks for a partial and cut.  I get it done every 4 weeks cause it grows like a weed.  I also have alot of hair. (It would cost me about 200-300 if I went to a regular salon or if she charged me full price)

I rarely walk around nude.  I have big windows all through my house and live on a semi main road.

  • 1.  $20-$20 every 6 months to 2 years. Yeah, I'm lazy and don't really care about my hair.  I don't color it in any way and get it cut very rarely because it grows so slowly.

    2.  Sometimes.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010
