Manhattan Venues

I'm getting married in November in Manhattan. We're hoping for an elegant evening reception, but don't have the budget for a pricey venue.

Any suggestions for places that can accomodate about 100 people?

I'm having mine at 107 West on the UWS for 90 people. 3 courses, tax/tip, and open bar for 5 hours is costing me $5,000.

for more details/pics I wrote about it here. http://foreverisntfree.blogspot.com/

My wedding is Feb 26th so you can see more pics up after that.

From my research I would try Manhattan Penthouse (you can prob do $105 a person).

Also- for 100 people a great option is renting a reasonable loft space and setting up a nice buffet style reception. That would really cut down on costs.

I had looked into that but I have too many guests and I was nervous about coordinating it myself.

I am getting married at Water's Edge in LIC in Queens. It is situated on a barge in the East River. It's a BEAUTIFUL view of the skyline, very reasonable (110/person before taxes) and so much is included in that price. Plus they have a ferry that can transport up to 50 guests at a time from Manhattan. That could be perfect for 100 guests.
