Where did you/are you getting married?

Hi ladies,

I am at a standstill in my reception venue research and just wanna see if I am missing anything.  I'd love to hear where you guys got married or where you will be getting married.  I'd appreciate your feedback!  Thanks!

    I am getting married at Castleton in Windham, NH.  I wanted a wedding by the water but couldn't touch any of the places in MA with my guest count, so Castleton won out.

    I looked at:
    Andover Country Club (Andover)
    Indian Ridge Country Club (Andover
    Tirrell Room (Quincy)
    Black Swan Country Club (Georgetown)
    Casa Lucia (Revere)
    all of the venues in Nahant
    and various regular halls around Cambridge, Watertown and Newton.

    Topsfield Commons.  It is beautiful , and can hold 200 people.

    We are getting married at Spinelli's in Lynnfield, which is beautiful!

    Also, take a look at Tewsbury Country Club.  FI's best man got married there (which is why we aren't getting married there), but their package includes a lot of stuff for the price, and the food is the best food I've ever had at a wedding.

    We're getting married at Pembroke Country club.  We looked at a lot of the places mentioned but also looked at the Granite Links, Brookmeadow CC, Jones River Trading, and Port305 in Marina Bay(this would only work if you are having a small wedding).

    I'm getting married at the Willowdale Esatate in Topsfield.  If they had a date open for us we would have gotten married at the Audubon Habitat in Belmont.  The house is gourgoues and the gardens there are stunning, and the money goes to a good cause.

    We got married at the Millennium Bostonian on 10/10/10. I highly recommend it. Our event was beautiful and the team at the Millennium were a pleasure to work with.

    When researching, we looked at the State Room, Hyatt Harborside, Seaport Hotel, Liberty Hotel, Renaissance and the Boston Harbor Hotel. We chose the Millennium because of their package pricing (no hidden costs) and the view (as good as you can get without going with the State Room). The State Room was a top contender but it had too many moving parts and we were concerned with extra fees.

    we got married at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset...if you are interested in South Shore locations, we also looked at: The Atlantica, Barker Tavern, Granite Links, Black Rock CC, Indian Pond CC, White Cliffs CC & Venezia

    I found the process of finding a venue frustrating and annoying at times but once you do find your location, everything else starts to fall into place...GL!

    We had our wedding at the Seaport Hotel in Boston and loved working with them.  Review in bio under Vendor Reviews if you're interested.  There are also pics in my bio (under Reception) or in our photographer's slideshow (link in siggy).

    A few weeks to go then Cafe Escadrille in Burlington!  So far we are extremely pleased with our choice.  We looked at the Commons and loved it but thought it was going to be too small for us! Also loved Venezia. Spinellis usually does a great job as far as food is concerned. We looked at Tewksbury Country Club and it's very pretty but we've been to stuff there and the food isn't very good. Good luck! Picking a place was my hardest decision!

    We're getting married at the Topsfield Commons...it's beautiful and very unique, I fell in love with this venue immediately.  We also looked at the Danversport Yacht Club and Salem Waterfront Hotel...Good luck deciding

    We are getting married at the Danvesport Yacht Club.  They have a few different locations to choose from based on the size of your wedding.  Their packages are quite reasonable and there are many things included in their package.  Good luck wherever you decide to go.

    We got married at the Tiffany Ballroom (Four Points Hotel) in Norwood and loved every minute of it.  The staff was great, the food was wonderful and everyone has said it was the best wedding they had been to in a long time ;)

    We got married at the Beach Plum Inn on Martha's Vineyard.

    We're going to be getting married at the Haverhill Coutry Club. We also looked at the Crowne Plaza in Natick and the Bedford Village Inn in NH.

    We had a budget in mind and shopped around by price and picked the venue based on a few of our must haves. (not having different rooms for ceremony and reception was a big deal breaker for me!) We havent gotten too far into the planning, but i've emailed/called with questions a few times and have been happy with the response time/answers i've gotten so far!

    We are getting married and having dinner and dancing at Gaslight in the South End - we did a buyout of the restaurant for the night, and we found that to be much more affordable than the other places we looked at, including the Liberty Hotel and Eastern Standard.

    Kit483, I love Gaslight - one of my favorite spots in the city!  If you don't mind my asking, how many people are you having? I would love to consider it for a (large) rehearsal dinner.

    Our civil ceremony was at Lindsey Chapel at Emmanuel Church (Newbury St between Arlington & Berkeley, Back Bay), then we had the Old Town Trolleys come & pick up our guests, give them a tour of Boston, and drop them off at our reception venue, Tapeo Restaurant & Tapas Bar (we rented out the restaurant--Newbury St between Fairfield & Gloucester).

    We are booked for next October at the Museum of Science's Skyline room.  Cocktail hour in Northeast Habitat exhibit area, preceded by a Duck Tour.

    (PS Kit - I work with your mom!  Knew it was you after seeing your date and Gaslight :)

    We are getting married at the Oceanview in Nahant.  The packages include so much, and they are such a pleasure to deal with.  It's a family run place, and they are incredibly accommodating.  They also have lots of great connections!  For example, if you reserve your out of town guest rooms at the four points sheraton in revere, they hotel does a free shuttle service to and from the Oceanview.  It's such an amazing place!!!

    We had our reception at the Tiffany Ballroom in Norwood Ma, I literally never had anything to worry about, the DJ, florist, and cake that were included in our package were great.  The service was amazing and food was delicious!

    Also, it was great to go right to the hotel from the reception, the party went till early morning and the hotel staff was fine with it! :)
