So I have been catching a lot of flak for this so I thought I would bring it to the board! On top of being a Bride I am also a maid of honor …her wedding is before mine so still a maid . She really wants to have her shower in the garden of a local tea shop which I also love! The only issue is that if we have it at the “traditional” time 1-3months before the wedding it will be the dead of another Midwestern winter…not very conducive to garden parties. We were thinking august or September and her wedding is in April. Is that too far apart? My whole point of view on it is the bride and the person throwing/paying for the party see no problem with it so I think that it is fine. BUT... I have had multiple people (mostly older) look at me like I was holding the shower in a strip club or asking something TOTALLY ridiculous! Is it that crazy to have the shower more then a few months prior to the wedding?
Re: How soon is too soon to throw a shower?
August or September are too early for a shower for an April wedding. I probably wouldn't attend.
My earliest shower was in March for a June wedding, and I thought that was early but it was because of scheduling conflicts, not just because of the style of party we wanted (it was OOT for me).
[QUOTE]Please use normal, black font. Pink is way hard to read. August or September are too early for a shower for an April wedding. I probably wouldn't attend. if she wanted a garden party, she probably should've had a July wedding... I also, wouldn't go in August...

and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont use pink font on here ever again. please and thank you
ETA: not to mention, that early will she have her guest list finalized? Because she would have to make sure that everyone invited to the shower does get invited to the wedding. That's one of the many reasons you don't do it that early. So much can change in 8 months.
Trip to Prague & bring home furbaby when we get back
