Good Morning Ladies

How was every ones weekend? I'm moving offices today and have to share an office with my crazy supervisor. Fun times.

My weekend was too short. We had Christmas dinner at my parents and exchanged some gifts. This weekend we will be out of town, spending the holiday with FI's family. We are doing secret santa and I ended up with his grandfather to buy for. I'm soo lost on what to get him.

Re: Good Morning Ladies

  • Good morning!

My weekend was awesome- way to short and not nearly as productive as it should have been but that is ok.

Are you sharing offices with your supervisor forever or just during the move?

It can be so hard buying presents... does he have any hobbies? does he collect anything?

  • We had a relatively lazy weekend, though we did quit smoking this weekend. Last night we got into a pretty big argument, but it's hard when you're craving a cigarette and also living with someone who is craving one :/
Work as usual today, I having a feeling this week is going to be even longer than last week :(

  • Congratulations on Quitting cigarettes, angele...

We had a pretty short weekend as well....

Friday evening we had my company Christmas party....Saturday we went to FIs sister's Christmas party, and then....Yesterday had a VERY nice evening, with visiting, and dinner at his mom's house.... Her Aunts who are in their late 80s were there, that is always fun... they are a hoot!!! And his mom's sister's and brother.... My parents too..... it was REALLY nice!!! I love that my family and his family are SO close, and get along so well.... :)

Thought I'd come kick it over her for a bit just for fun.

It's looking like a brown Christmas here. yay <~~sarcasm font

[QUOTE]We have had surprisingly little snow so far this year. But I'm happy about that. Of course, now that I say that, we will most likely get 18 inches tonight. At which point, my boss will once again announce that at his old job being late due to snow was no excuse and you were fired. But since he's nice, he will let us be 5 minutes late without firing us. Anyone have an exciting weekend? I worked and Christmas shopped.

He sounds like a jerk :/ There have been times where I have gotten stuck on my way to work and had to call AAA. I was definitely more than 5 minutes late.

  • My weekend was good! Well, sort of.

Friday we went to an art show where I DIDN'T get to buy a piece, even though I wanted to. We showed up too late and all the pieces I really liked were already sold. Lesson learned for the next show, I'm gonna be there right at the gallery opening!

Saturday we went to what I thought was an ugly sweater party but turned out it was an ANTI-ugly sweater party. Thank god Goodwill was fresh out of ugly christmas sweaters! FI drank WAY too much, but I still had a good time because it was mostly my friends at the party.

Sunday was the aftermath of the party, I was chipper and went to the gym, but FI spent all day bellaching (quite literally). I think it was probably just the worst hangover he's ever had, but it's quite possible he had food poisoning on top of that, now that I think about it.

Looking forward to a week filled with mirth and holiday parties!

  • Good morning ladies!

I had an interesting weekend. Friday I went christmas shopping and FINALLY figured out what to get FI for christmas.

Then saturday went more christmas shopping and then spent the afternoon hanging out with FI and his best friend. That was actually pretty fun. Then saturday night, we went to a party then went out for pancakes because it sounded good. I may or may not have had too much to drink which didn't agree with the panackes because about 2:30 am, I woke up with the worst stomach ache, but it passed and I was good to go after that.

Sunday we had dinner with his folks and my folks. It actually went pretty well, but FI was mortified by some of the stuff his parents were saying, which in reality wasn't the best conversation, but it wasn't offensive by any means. He hid in the kitchen most of the night regardless. Surprisingly, (but happily) the conversation did not devolve into wedding talk at all. I just don't think that would have gone over well. FMIL and my mom are different enough that it may not have been tension-free.

Nonetheless, I had a good weekend. I'm wishing I had some time off before the holidays, but alas, the life of a contractor bears no PTO.

  • Good morning everyone! This weekend was pretty lazy and boring. I have some major tests coming up that I need to study for, so I've been studying for about 3-4 hours a day. It sucks so bad.
Today I have a Dr. appointment, and then more studying, so it's going to be a really really boring day.

  • DJ, that's good that he's really a softie. My boss is like that sometimes too, she will seem really mean and angry but you know she's a total softie :)

JMo, I can not imagine waking up at 5 let alone doing it to go to work! I haven't had my daily DD fix today, but whenever I go I think, "thank goodness for the people working here!"

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Good Morning Ladies : I might be using some hyperbole. But the last two years, there has been a day each year where some poor soul has asked if we could come in at 10 or 11 due to the large snowstorm predictions and been subjected to "the speech." But really, he's a softie and only fires people when I put my foot down. (Which has been one person the entire time I've been here.)

We had an interesting similar situation. FSIL works for the county sheriff's office and they were told that if they did not show up to work on christmas day, they would be fired. Keep in mind, we also got a huge snow storm on christmas eve that year. FI, FFIL and I spent a good solid 2 hours digging FSIL's car out of the drive way. They drove like 12 mph until they hit the highway (which was mostly clear). She wound up being like one of 3 people scheduled to work that day who actually showed up and she drove 110 miles to get there. Yet, miraculously, no one was fired.

  • Good morning. My weekend was also way too fast.

Saturday we did our shopping, stopped by my parent's house to show Mom my new car. Then while we were there my friend Billy called and we met him for dinner.

Sunday we went to my brother's church to see my niece sing in the Chirstmas program. Then went to the grocery and home to clean.

  • Happy Monday everyone!

My weekend was ok - lots going on. :) My bff/MOH drove down to see our new house (rental) and hang out for the day on Saturday. After she left, i made some lime/chocolate truffles and snickerdoodles for FI's work. Yesterday FI and I went to eat & something did not agree w/ me...so i was down & out for most of the day. I did get new tires though - which im pretty excited about. Now we'll be safe on our 10 hr drive to Omaha this week! :)

This snow storm coming in is making me nervous...we haven't had any REAL snow yet this year....and of course we get some when we're trying to go out of town. I obviously don't live in the mountains. lol

(unless you do my trick. the reason it tastes so much better in the store is because it's brewed at a higher temp. if you brew hot water, and then use that water as your coffee water, it'll be hot enough and taste amazing. you're welcome!)
