Visited our venue

FI and I went to visit our venue again last night.  We haven't been there since we booked it way back in July.  I am SO glad that we decided to make the trip.  It is bigger than I remember it being so I feel much better about having everyone there. 

There is one glitch however....  when we originally visited the site there was a set of stairs leading up to the middle of the stage.  We have been planning on using these for the ceremony (walk down the aisle, walk up the stairs, etc.).  We found out last night that the stairs were built by someone who had rented the space a while back and were not up to code.  I guess they had to be destroyed.  Now I am trying to figure out how to adjust for this little snafu.  There is a set of stairs (built to code) that is on the far left side of the stage.  Our only option seems to be to walk down the center aisle and the turn left to go up the stairs and then walk across to the center of the stage.  Does this sound like it would be strange?  I also thought about building our own set of stairs, but they said that they wouldn't be able to allow it unless it was built to code (with handrails and all).  Does anyone have any thoughts?

    This sounds perfectly normal. I wouldn't worry at all.

    Good thing you went by to check things over, otherwise you would be panicking on your big day.

    It is always a good idea to visit the venue every so often because we tend to forget the layouts and the little details. I have pictures of our venue so I can go back and look to see where stuff was when i am making plans. I don't think that walking around and to the center is weird, ppl are going to understand why it was done that way then they are there, so I wouldn't worry about that.

    I'd just use the stairs that are already in place.  One less thing for you to get done and worry about, plus this way you won't have handrails or stairs in your pictures or blocking guests' view.

    We just did a final walk-through too and I felt much better about things.
