I know we've done this before but it's been awhile and I'm bored on a Tuesday.

Do you have any tattoos? How many and of what?

Does your H have tattoos?

What do your parents/ILs think?

Are you planning on getting more?

Neither of us have any, and I highly doubt we ever will. We are just not really tattoo people for whatever reason. I don't think my parents would care, my sister has a tattoo and they haven't said anything about it. My inlaws might, they are pretty old fashioned and I wouldn't be surprised if they still thought only prisoners have tattoos or something.

Fi and I don't have any tats. I have a really low pain tolerance (child birth is going to be horrendous) so I can't really see myself being subjected to getting one.

FI doesn't really like them either.

Butterfly on my ankle, clover on that foot, stars on inner ankle. Mermaid on other leg, nautical star on that foot. Two clovers on my stomach, orchids on my left ribs, cherry blossoms on my right upper arms/shoulder. Serendipity on my lower back (tramp stamp!). My first tattoo was a horseshoe with my horse's name under it, but it was a shitty tattoo and got covered up by the butterfly.

Does your H have tattoos?
He has one clover on his foot that matches mine. He'll probably never get another one because he's a wuss.

What do your parents/ILs think?
Inlaws love them I think. My mom likes them once she gets over the size. My dad just shakes his head. Sometimes I get an "oh jeez!"

Are you planning on getting more?
Yes. I'm starting to get the itch again, but I need to figure out what and where I want it.

2- one is a butterfly on my shoulder, the other is a celtic peace knot on the back of my neck

Nope, but he wants one.

What do your parents/ILs think?

mom has 3 tattoos, dad thinks they're cool. FMIL has only seen the back of my neck & never said anything.

Are you planning on getting more?

Planning on adding a flower to my butterfly

I have 7, my favorite was a tribute to a friend who passes, its a fleur de lis with a line from a poem she wrote about us "To loyalty and faith being guided through laughter" FI has full sleeves plus three others. We're thinking about getting a matching dogwood flower tat (FI proposed under my favorite childhood dogwood climbing tree).

My dad doesn't care, my mom dislikes them. FI wore long sleeves year round to hide his tattoos from my mom. I mean, she knew he had them, but he felt uncomfortable showing them around her.

Do you have any tattoos? How many and of what? One, a blue plumeria flower on my hip. I broke my pelvis in a car accident in 2005. The plumeria flower means "independence" and the blue is the color for anxiety disorder awareness, which I developed as a result of the car accident.

Does your H have tattoos? Two. He has an angel wrapped in the Irish flag on his left shoulder blade, and an oraborus on his chest.

What do your parents/ILs think? My parents don't know about mine. They don't really care about H's. My mom and dad always said they were anti-tattoo but my uncle told me they both separately said they wouldn't really care. My MIL hates tats and isn't thrilled.

Are you planning on getting more? Maybe. I'm not sure. H definitely wants another but right now it's like...do we really have the money to spend on body art? Not really.

How many and of what? One. It's a pink lotus flower on the inside of my right ankle.

Does your H have tattoos? No. He kind of hates them.

What do your parents/ILs think? My parents both think it's kind of silly. Tattoos aren't their style. They don't tease me about it or say anything mean, though. I don't know that my ILs have ever noticed it. My niece thinks it's pretty, though.

Are you planning on getting more? No. I kind of want to get this one removed.

Bonus for PIP! I'll add one later. I'm in class, and it would look weird to snap a pic of my ankle.

Do you have any tattoos? How many and of what? I have just one--a somewhat celtic cross on my lower back (before it became popular as a "tramp stamp" location--hate that!)

Does your H have tattoos? He has lots. first one he got when he was 16, his dad took him. We broke up for 3 months a few summers ago and he got 4 in that time period alone.

What do your parents/ILs think? Parents were surprised, but could care less, I was over 18. IL's definitely didn't care, seeing as how FI's dad took him. FI sister also has a lot--she has a beautiful one on her entire shoulder of 3 gerbera daisies with no black outline, it is amazing.

Are you planning on getting more? Definitely, I'm thinking something like this:.

Bonus for PIP! I don't think I've ever taken a picture (or I guess, had someone take a picture of) my current tattoo.

Like annak we're really not tattoo people either. I thought about it for years in my late teens/early twenties but could just never muster up the will to do it. FI really doesn't like them and would never get one.

I don't think either of our parents would really care. FSIL has one and my brother has a huge one on his calf (that he got in some guys basement when he was 16). That pissed my Dad off but because of the safety/minor issues not because of the tattoo it self.

Edie - I would have never guessed that you had so many! Very cool.

Do you have any tattoos? Yes How many and of what?6: my first two I got five minutes apart when I was 17- cherries on my hip, and a fairy on a flower on my lower back. Then I have a hula chick on my right back shoulder, my parents initials and the year I was born on my left back shoulder. In the middle, right side of my back is a large sparrow. I also have Japanese letters on my ankle, meaning "live for today".

Does your H have tattoos? He doesn't right now. He says he's too indecisive to ever get one.

What do your parents/ILs think? My parents paid for my first five. I tend to keep them covered around FIL's.

Are you planning on getting more? A few weeks after the wedding, I am going in to start work on my back piece. Eventually my whole back will be done. I just have to soften the blow for FH for how expensive it will be.

J and I both do not have tattoos. I know that first it would take me WAY too long to decide on something, and second, I would change my mind in a few days and want it removed. I really cannot think of something I'd want on my body forever.

Hell, I get anxious after 5 minutes with nail polish on because I want it to be changed. Which is why I never wear nail polish and why it made me CRAZY being on my HM and not having any nail polish remover post-wedding.

That's totally me. I keep coming up with different designs that I want and I constantly change them. I don't know that I'd change my mind once I made it up and had it but I keep changing my mind on what I want which tells me I shouldn't get one now!

Seriously I just get itchy and upset if I have nail polish on too long, or make up on too long. I could not handle the permanence of a tattoo. Having anything other than my natural body marks on me makes me feel weird.

Do you have any tattoos? How many and of what?: No, unless you count a little pencil mark where my sister jabbed me years and years ago.

Does your FI have tattoos?: No

What do your parents/ILs think?: I don't think FMIL or FFIL would care if I got one, but my parents would probably literally disown me. They are firmly in the "Tattoos=White Trash" camp.

Are you planning on getting more?: No, I don't think I'll ever get one, I've seen too many 'tattoos gone wrong', and I can't think of anything I would want tattooed.

Musu, I worried about that too. TBH, most days, I don't even notice my tattoo. It becomes part of you like the rest of your body, some days I even forget that it's there.

But I had my design in mind for a year before I went for it. It wasn't an impulsive decision.

I have four tattoos. One on each arm, one on my left boob, and basically my entire back. In order of being tattooed: blue rose on left boob, love in Chinese done in rainbow colors on my right arm, tribal rose on my back, my older brother's face with three balloons on my left arm (memorial ink). My dad and FMIL don't like them (silly Jews :-p ), my mom paid for my first one, and my fiance is rather indifferent to them. I love them, but have no plans to get any more. I tried to find a good picture of my memorial tattoo, but there aren't any right now. That one is precious to me.

What do your parents/ILs think? My Mom hates tattoos...and would kill me (still) if I ever got one. My FFIL has lots of tattoos, FMIL has none, but doesn't have a strong opinion about them.

Are you planning on getting more? I don't think I'll ever get a tattoo...its not really my style

I forget about my tattoos since I don't see them everyday. So when someone seems them and asks, my usual response begings with "Oh yeah, those."

I actually had a lady at Target one day pull down the collar of my shirt (without asking first) to see my Celtic knot.

Mine are on the inside of my wrists and I still forget about them. I'm always surprised when the 17 month old I babysit for points them out. Mine both cost $50 but then I tipped them $10 each.

I lost count. I have the Kemetic alphabet, ankhs, a sun, an eye, Misfit skulls, my sister's name with moon and stars, kanji, a butterfly, a cemetery, and the grim reaper playing the keyboard (actually the keyboardist Janne Warman)

FI has the same eye that I have

What do your parents/ILs think?
parents get annoyed every time. Don't know what ILs think, they've never said anything

Are you planning on getting more?
definitely. I plan on getting one in my lip and getting my family crest eventually...and probably more

Do you have any tattoos? How many and of what?
I have 4, my first was a star pattern and some swirls on my right hip.
Second was 203 on my left inner ankle, its our area code and in honor of my cousin who passed.
I started my half sleeve third, its a penguin holding a duckie umbrella and a whale ballon, and the whale is shooting cupcakes out of his blowhole.
In between sitting on my arm i got my left ribs done, it was inspired by the "birds of a feather print" but was hand drawn by my artist, its a feather morphing into birds flying and beneath it it says "a bird does not sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song"
I also have guaged ears. I really wish i had pictures with me

Does your H have tattoos?
Yes, he has 3, he has a cherry blossom on his inside left ankle, its a brotherhood thing with a bunch of his friends.
On the back of his left calf he has the Fit Bike bmx company logo with a large cherry blossom and a realistic looking heart, its the only one he has in color.
His right arm is a full sleeve of a mustang engine, and engine components, we both work at dealerships and are huge gear heads lol

What do your parents/ILs think?
My mom and stepdad dont really mind, my father and stepmother like the ones I can hide and were not happy about the half sleeve at all lol
Luckily FI already had tattoos so his parents were prepared lol

Are you planning on getting more?
Absolutely. After the wedding I'm getting Mrs. on my wedding ring finger, and he's getting Mr.
I have plans for my left arm, my thighs, and my right ribs, and a possible leg sleeve.

I have been asked to cover mine for the wedding by both my mother and my aunt, and I will not be doing so. I don't need to hide who I am on my wedding day.

I know! I was going to my ex's artist (when we were still dating). He had been going to him for so long that he would barely charge us anything. My ex was sleeved out, as well as multiple on his chest and back and from the knee down covered. I think he charged me $75 for 3 hours of work. He was a phenomenal artist though.

Now I have to find someone else that I trust, before I start anything.
