  I'm going to be watching the thread closely, because I was just saying this weekend that we need to think about getting DD one.
  
  FWIW, our Toddler Tidbits or whatever newsletter from the pediatrician said that the little freestanding potty seats are easier for kids because they feel more secure with their feet touching the ground, but I don't know how credible that thing is.

  We have a kiddie stool in the bathroom that I sit on while she takes a bath.  When I go in to pee, I pull out the stool and she sits on it.  I know it's early, but if we get a potty chair, I'd like it to be *around* so that she's used to seeing it and sitting on it before we start pottying in it.

  We got a chair that does it all.  It's a potty chair for a boy or girl (there's a little covering for a boy) and you can take the seat off the chair and put it right on your toilet.

  I had both: I found a little potty chair where the top popped off and could be popped on to a toilet. It was the only plain potty chair Wal-Mart had: everything else sang or made noise every time the kid whizzed. Ridiculous.

  Hmmm.  I think that's it.  I'll have to look when DD wakes up from her nap.  It's never been used so I could return it.

  I've been scoping.  Sis and SIL both just used the inserts so we'll probably go that route.  They haven't been wrong yet.  DH found one that looked like a soccer stadium and cheered when you went.  Thankfully, he didn't buy it.
