Your name and DH name: Rebekah & Chris
    Wedding Date: 2/20/2010
Ceremony/Reception Location: The Rand-Bryan House, Garner NC
Colors: Purple (different shades), Silver & White
    Favorite/least favorite part of planning:
Favorite - Marrying my best friend!! DIY Invitations, planning every aspect and then DH's family really kicked it into overdrive with helping us out (preparing food, doing flowers and then setting everything up for us) a couple days before the wedding. It was amazing!
Least Favorite - the cost. I wish I could have come even further under budget, but then again I wouldn't change one aspect!  Also having a shorter reception than originally planned, but that was made up by having out family come back to our home and hanging out / visiting for a few more hours :o)
Random fun fact about yourself: I'm a red-headed step child? I get paid to exercise horses and DH and I have a love for goofy looking animals (Lucy and Harriet) :o)

Barbara, I didn't like the chairs at TSC either but I just dealt with them. I wanted chivari chairs but I couldn't stomach spending over $700 just for chairs. They didn't bother me at all the day of the wedding. Now I'm glad I didn't rent chairs...it would have prevented us from getting a videographer.

Meghan, one of my good friends just moved to Memphis for optometry school!

[QUOTE]Sorry, Holly.  I teared up writing it too.  I couldn't think of anything else I haven't liked though. I'd bet we have similarly sized shoe collections...if either of us bothered to count them  :)

Probably... and my shoe of the month thing I recently signed up for isn't helping my shoe addiction either! haha.

Ha. I looked into that when you posted it, but decided not to sign up.  I didn't need another reason to buy shoes :)

Your name and FI name: Corinne and Jeremy
Wedding Date: 10/23/10 (yay no UNC home game OR UF game! Someone up there loves us...)
Ceremony/Reception Location: Friend's horse farm, Chapel Hill, NC
Colors: Eggplant, rust orange (main colors) and golds, reds, etc (fallish colors, lots of wildflowers so whatever is blooming, like Mary said. :) )
Favorite/least favorite part of planning: My favorite so far has been creating an event that is really unique and involves all the people who love us in some way. And also, just seeing how much people care about us. I knew that before, but when people offer to do things (like our friends hosting our wedding) it makes me really emotional and reminds me when bad things happen (see below) that there are always people who love me no matter what.

There were I couple of things about planning that weren't my favorite, but the worst has to be the level of animosity I've felt from FI's family, whether intentional or not. One of FMIL's friends sent us a 3-page anonymous letter on Valentine's Day basically saying our marriage wouldn't last because I don't want to have kids right away, and because I like dogs more than people. (Um, yes, because my dogs don't write people anonymous letters dooming their marriage.) They went on and on about how I'm selfish and I keep FI from his family, that I disrespect them by trying to control FI into doing what I want, that FI wasn't selfish and hateful until he met me, etc. I'm terrified this person will be at the wedding because I don't know who they are and FMIL won't tell FI who wrote it. I cried over it for a month and then tried to forget it, but it's still in the back of my mind. I feel like I can never trust FMIL again and it has basically ruined the level of comfort I used to feel around his family, since the letter knew specifics that only his family members knew.

    Aaaanyway...

Random fun fact about yourself:That previous stuff could probably qualify as the "random fact" but it wasn't fun so... one of my best friends is married to FI's cousin, and we had met before they married but reconnected at their wedding. Now we'll be related! (And I have an ally in FI's family...)

<div>Krystal - small world! There really aren't that many optometry schools out there and I think Memphis is about the closest to NC (even though it's still 12 hours away - goodness Tennessee is a long state!) I hope your friend likes Memphis. It's a neat place to visit but Zach's had enough being out here a few years...</div>

I totally need to go back and read all of these. I'm swamped at work. Just got back from a trip to Iowa. We left on Wednesday and drove 11 hours. Stopped at my aunt's in Indianapolis for the night. Got up in the morning on Thursday and drove 11 hours to Iowa. Was home with family Friday, Saturday, and a short bit on Sunday before starting the drive back. We got in last night around 8pm. UGH!! My butt still aches from sitting in the truck for that long.  Anyway...

Your name and FI name:  Shelly and Daren
    Wedding Date: 9.11.10
Ceremony/Reception Location: Snipes Farm in Chapel Hill
Colors: Lapis and Fern (colors from David's Bridal)
Favorite/least favorite part of planning: I love planning in general. I love detail work. I'm great at making lists. Least favorite...the guest list. I'm so worried about hurting people's feelings. Also super sad my grandpa can't come to the wedding due to health reasons. He lives in Iowa.
Random fun fact about yourself: I played rugby in college. We won two national champsionships. I'm only rough and tough on the field. In real life I'm a huge wuss.

Your name and FI name:  Carey and Eric
Wedding Date: I think I'm the only April 30, 2011 bride so far!
Ceremony/Reception Location: Advent Lutheran Church, Charlotte
Reception at the Ranson House, Huntersville
    Colors: Navy blue and yellow
    Favorite/least favorite part of planning:
Favorite: being so excited about some of the little things - like this week I found the website I want to use for our STDs, and last week I found our DIY invitations at Michael's
Least Favorite: I miss FI so much!  Doing it all by myself from Texas and having to spend my short visits at home cramming as much wedding stuff into a weekend as possible is not fun
Random fun fact about yourself:  FI and I are living and planning the wedding long-distance: I'm in Austin, TX and he's in Washington, DC.  We've been long distance for over a year now and I can't WAIT to graduate and get to see him more!

This really sucks... wow, why anyone would want to hurt someone else like this, REGARDLESS of how they feel about them is beyond me. Honestly, if it were me, I'd really have a hard time with knowing that person may be at my wedding... especially since it appears FMIL knows who sent it. :o/ Sorry you are in that situation, I do hope it gets better!

Thanks, Krystal.  I know I won't be thinking about those chairs later, they've just stumped me a bit with the colors--silly, but true!

Meghan--where are you in law school?  I went to UNC.
