Final Song Ideas

Hey girls!  Kind of a random question and silly in the grand scheme of things, but what songs are you all using for your final song?  My fiance and his friends have this competition to see which couple uses the best closing song.  One used "The Gambler" and the other used "Piano Man".  I need a good, legendary song like that.

    You mean the last song of the night at the reception? IIRC, we used 'Goodnight Sweetheart' -- the ShaNaNa one from the late 70's. Guests got a kick out of it. Sounds like you're looking for more of a mainstream hit though?

    how about "american pie" by don mclean? starts out slow, but everyone loves to sing along to it and it really picks up!

    Thanks ladies!  Those are both good songs!  I'll add them to my list :)  My brother suggested Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, but it's about a guy leaving a girl...so I dunno about that one! lol!

    Boys 2 Men – "Thank you" I think would be fun and appropriate for anyone in their 20-30's
    Other not worthy songs I think of/have seen:
    Lenny Kravitz  -Gonna go my way or American Woman
    Green Day – Time of your Life
    Don’t Stop – Fleetwood Mac
    Don't stop believing  - Journey
         Garth Brooks – Friends in Low places

    Our was supposed to be the "not worthy" song "Time of Your Life" by Green Day (not sure why it's unworthy).  But it ended up being a song by Journey called 'Faithfully"

    I kind of have two final songs. The first is "I've Had the Time of My Life" from the Dirty Dancing sountrack, and then as the DJ is packing up he's going to play "We Go Together" from the Grease Soundtrack.
