    Lurker chiming in here- my father passed away unexpectedly. It was a few months before my wedding, and 2 weeks before my now H's birthday. 
     
    We put all wedding discussions on hold until a few months later when we had the discussion of whether we were going to postone or continue on.
     
    My H was very supportive and I knew he was struggling with his own grief, stress of everyday life, and undoubtedly trying to figure out how to best help me (neither of us had lost parents before this).

    The best thing he did was let me have the space to grieve and encourage me to seek help when/where I needed it. Counseling was wonderful; it helped give us both tools to help one another through the long process of grief and acceptance.

    When I need support, I don't go to an Internet forum filled with strangers. I go to my therapist and my close friends.

    My recommendation is to go back to your therapist and get a different therapist for your fiance. He doesn't need to be in therapy with you right now -- it wasn't your mother who died, so he needs to have private sessions with a therapist to deal with his personal feelings here. You need to let him go to private therapy and not bother him about what occurs in therapy. Give him time and give him space.
