Licensed liquor provider who lets you stock bar?

I don't know if this is even legal, but does anyone know of a licensed liquor/bar provider who will let you buy the kegs/cases of wine/liquor for the event? I have close connections that would allow me to buy alcohol for next to nothing, but our venue requires that someone licensed serve it.

Any ideas? Or any idea of this is even legal? Thanks

Our venue will be up near Burlington.

I looked into this as well, we actually ended up moving our reception site so that all we needed was a licensed bartender. If your venue requires a liquor license then unfortunately you will need to get beverage catering. I looked into Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier- they are very reasonable compared to others in the area - you can check them out at: http://threepennytaproom.com/
