Hey ladies!
I'm new to the knot. I just got engaged two weekends ago! (EEE!!!! lol) I'm 21 and I was just looking for some other fellow brides to talk to. Even though we won't be getting married for awhile I still am super excited to start this journey and none of my friends are engaged or anything so I just thought I could find some ladies to chat to on here that I would have more things in common with! So yay! Can't wait to meet some fantastical ladies!
Re: I'm new!!! Lookin for some other brides to be to chat with!
This is going to be a post and run because I have to meet with a photographer tonight!
But tell us about yourself:
Name
Wedding Date
Any wedding plans?
HOw'd you guys meet/get engaged?
and anything else you'd like to add.
I'll be back in a while, but others will come I'm sure!
As pp said, tell us a bit about yourself!
Have any hobbies?
What kind of humor do you have?
Dogs?
Are you still in school or anything?
i would also recommend going over to your "month board" as those girls are in the same position that you are!
i would love to see some ring photos
I guess I didn't really introduce myself. lol, well my name is Kara and my fiance's name is Ryan. We live in West Virginia. We actually went to middle and high school together but we never really talked until college where we happened to go to the same school. We have been together for almost 3 years.
He proposed two weekends ago at the Columbus Zoo. I have been bugging him forever that we need to go the zoo because he has never been to the Columbus Zoo and it is one of my favorite places that I used to go to as a kid. So he woke me up early Saturday morning and told me to get dressed because we were going somewhere. So I got ready and off we went. I had no idea where we could possibly be going. I thought maybe we were going to a state park for a hike and lunch because he had packed a cooler. And he would not tell me where we were going no matter how much I bugged him. So I finally gave up and we ended up in Columbus. He told me that we were just going to have a destress day because I had been really stressed out doing grad school stuff so I had no idea he was gonna propose. We were there for probably about 3 hours before he asked me. We were by one of those smooshed penny machines because I LOVE THOSE THINGS! so I was getting one with a flying fox on it because they were soo cute! He asked if he could see it and then he "dropped" it. So he bent down to pick it up and when I looked back down at him he had my penny and my ring. At this point, it just gets all blurry because I was so surprised!
We are planning to get married in October of next year because he will graduate in May and we both want a fall wedding. We talked about maybe having it in a barn but that's about all the "planning" we have so far.
I am in school right now, getting a degree in Psychology and in the fall I plan to go to grad school to get my master's in Special Ed. Ryan is getting his degree in Forestry.
As far as hobbies go, I love to scrapbook, read, watch movies, and take pictures.
Right now, we have one furbaby- a kitty named Demetri that we found a few months after started dating on the side of the road and we nursed him back to health and 2 fish. We plan on getting a puppy once we find an apartment next year! yay!
Umm, I think I answered everything! Can't wait to learn more about everyone!
Best Wishes and Good Luck!
I'll have a minor in Criminology, sooo who knows
What a neat proposal story.....I know you must be super excited!
@OBX yes! I am super excited. He did a great job with his proposal! lol

I'm new too and wanted to say hey so I better fill it out too:
K
We don't have a date yet, just engaged last night
No wedding plans yet except for I know the church I want to be married at - it overlooks FFIL's house on the lake and is beautiful, and also FI's mother's cemetary. She is buried on a beautiful hill in a cemetary that the church looks out on. So it's a good fit for us and I just emailed them to see if we can get married there if we aren't members (but figure we can since his dad is one of the few homeowners on the lake, it's a small town).

We met at work back in 09, at a Super Bowl potluck. We both thought the potluck was lame it turns out - at the time I didn't even want to go! My boss wanted us to go to represent our dept though, so I went, and saw him and my jaw dropped. Later I led some training in our dept, and he came over to take the training! I was leading job shadowing, and he shadowed me for a day...I knew after the first day he was "the one". Turns out he felt the same way, we started dating after emailing back and forth/IM'ing back and forth for three months, and turns out it was meant to be!

We got engaged at a lake that we used to take lunch breaks at when we still worked together. I no longer work there so it's become a good memory of our early days (and it is a BEAUTIFUL lake)! It is still beautiful and we were able to bring my son with us (soon to be OUR son, FI is adopting him once we are married)!

Nice to meet you all and look forward to hearing your stories!
