Where did you get your veil?

I'm sorry if we've gone through this before, but I'm having the hardest time finding a veil that I like! Maybe I'm just cheap, but the price stickers of the ones at the bridal shops don't help at all.  I have sort of an idea of what I want, but haven't had anything jump out at me yet.

Was this difficult for anyone else?

it was for me, especially since the one I found at a bridal shop that was perfect was $360!! I was looking online, but ultimately I went to a trunk show at that same bridal shop (mestad's in St. Cloud) where there was a designer who is going to make the same veil for much cheaper (still more than I wanted to spend, but I didn't really want to take a risk on something online since I can't see the quality and color.) The quote for the one I'm getting made was $180 with 20% off, much better than $360 anyway.

Check out Che Bell on Grand. They have a wide range of beautiful veils that they handmade and dye to match your dress. Thats where I got mine and it was beautiful. They were so nice to work with. HTH!

Try the Wedding Shoppe....they periodically have sales on veils.   One of my friends found hers for around $50 during a sale.  Places like Michaels and Joannes have some pretty inexpensive ones (around $20) but obviously they are pretty basic ones.

I got mine on Craigslist.  You could check the "For Sale" post at the top.  Also, many Knotties have had good luck making their own.  I know mrskatematch did.  She's mostly on the nest, though.

My FMIL is making mine.  I hear they are really easy to make.  The tulle is really really cheap!  I can't get over how much of a mark up veils are!

I got mine at Heartstrings in Hopkins.  It was $80 and since we are getting our tuxes there I got $100 store credit so I used it towards the veil.  I am not in love with it, but was not going to spend $300 on a veil to wear for 4 hours.

Someone awhile ago posted about bella bridal on etsy (I think that's the name).  I looked on there and they had what seem to be nice ones for decent price ($50ish)

I bought mine at the Monique Lhuillier salon in Edina. My veil is a Toni Federici (sp?) and I think it was $175. I didn't care a whole lot about the veil so finding one that was acceptable wasn't too tough.

    Good luck!

I was having the same problem. I want a cathedral length two tear with blusher that is detachable with a few crystals around the edges (NOT easy to find under $300).  The Wedding Shoppe will make me one for $180 plus about $40 for the crystals (they offered to show us how to put them on so you don't have to pay the 40 for them to do it).  I am still looking and will try che bella and I am planning on going to the bridal consignment event in a few weeks to see if they have any there...  Here' the link.  www.idoredosale.com/" target="_blank" title="I Do Redo Website" class="ApplyClass">www.idoredosale.com

got mine at Mestads in Rochester.  LOVED one that was like $280 so the saleswoman helped me find one that was similar and much cheaper!

The girls on the budget board suggested valueveil.com or valuveil.com or something like that?  They're incredibly cheap and supposedly pretty good quality?

I couldn't justify the large price tag for a little piece of veil.  I spent about $10 on tulle at Walmart (including enough to make a practice veil), $2.99 on a veil patter at Joann's and $2 on the thread.  I wish I would have not spent the three dollars on teh pattern, because my aunt ended up altering the one cut from the pattern quite a lot, but it was a good starting point.  I don't think that it looked any less "high quality" and many people couldn't believe that we'd made it ourselves for $15.00.
