best cruise for honeymooners?

we are having a really hard time deciding on what to do for our June Honeymoon.  We were originally thinking an all inclusive but can't seem to commit.  so now we are kinda thinking a cruise, but not sure which are best for couples... ideas?

we would like to go leave from florida since we are from the South East.
Thanks for your input ladies!!!

Re: best cruise for honeymooners?

  • We are going on Royal Caribbean freedom of the seas. Our travel agent said it was more couple oriented than the other cruises.

  • We are doing Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas...same as pp, we heard they are more couple geared while Carnival is more of a party crowd
  • If it's in the budget, I would probably consider some of the higher end cruise companies - Holland America, Princess and Celebrity would be good places to start.  If you have the budget for it, I'd also consider Regent, Crystal, Seabourn, Silverseas or Windstar.  I know we've been getting a lot of mailers from Regent saying they're offering lower rates, free excursions, free airfare, etc.

  • Cruiselines vary . . . you could say they have "personalities" If you haven't already, check out cruisecritic.com.  it is to cruising what the knot is to wedding planning.

    Some generalizations:

    Carnival -- party hearty

    RCL -- active sporty

    NCL -- casual

    princess -- romantic

    HAL -- older

    X -- upscale

    Cunard -- upscale, "proper"

Seaborn, Raddison,Orient  Symphony etc.  "country club' elegant & expensive.
  • Oh yes I forgot to take that into consideration. I recommended Royal Caribbean b/c I was invisioning our budget HAHA

If you can afford it go on Princess, i hear it is IDEAL if you want romance on your trip

But if you have a tight budget Royal Caribbean :)
  • I would say Princess. My fiance went on a trip with family and I couldn't be there, but it is not a crazy party cruise line. They enforce the 21 and over drinking age so you don't have to worry about wild eighteen year olds going crazy on the ship as they do on Carnival cruises. Just plan to dress nice for dinner.

I am going with NCL for my wedding because we are going to Europe and the flights are through the roof, but I would go with Princess if I could.
