Baby bump and dress

We are getting married July 23 of this year and I will be just over 7 mos. pregnant when we do. When would be the best time to look for a wedding dress without having to worry too much about getting bigger and not fitting it? I'm not trying to wait until the last gun is fired so I was thinking the first or second week of June, but I've heard the last couple of months is when women can really start to pop.  :)

  • I think you should buy a LACE UP BACK dress as it gives you more room then a zipper back so if you do get big you can still fit in the dress.

Do you want your baby belly to show or not to show? That also depends on what type of dress to get!

  • Another voice from someone who's never been pregnant, but I'm pretty sure that maternity stores offer you like a "tie-on bump" that simulates how your belly will look at 5 mos, 7 mos, etc. Maybe you could look into one of these for when you go to the store so that you can get an idea of what to expect?

Really? I had no idea. Thanks for correcting me. Good luck to the OP.

lol I've never heard of the "tie-on bump" but that sounds pretty cool.  :)

As for my belly showing, it doesn't really matter to me. I found a really pretty empire waist gown on David's bridal, but I read that the bust and waist measurements are important so I wasn't sure how much I would "pop" by then.  :P

    Thanks for all the advice.

  • First of all, conragts!  Honestly with both of my kids I got most of my belly between 4-7 months and after that it didn't really grow much.  Everyone is different though.  What about a dress that ties right under the bust instead of the waist and kind of "poofs out" from there (is there a name for this?)  You could also check maternity stores for a white dress (not necessarily a wedding dress).
