I make a pumpkin crisp instead of pie and it is like heaven.  And sooo easy too.  Then I buy a pecan pie from Norma's Cafe or Mama's Daughters or somewhere like that.

I am so sorry for those of you that are sick.  Today is the first day in almost a month I have woken up without a sore throat.  It hangs on, let me tell ya.

That's what I did and it was much better.   I think we got the necessities in their places first, then started one by one after that to get everything unpacked.  I think it took us about a week or so... but I hate seeing boxes around the house, so that's probably a lot faster than most...

Yesterday we were told to call the priest that the ILs want to do our wedding (it's FFIL's uncle)... so that fine.  We call him and he was told (by my ILs) that our wedding was late June or early July.  Are you kidding me?  We are 6 months and 6 days from the wedding and his parents can't even remember the month it is in?  FMIL hasn't made any inputs lately, but I have a feeling this quietness is all leading up to something... It just makes me nervous...

So, my photographer just posted on her blog (that she doesn't update very often) that she will no longer be doing weddings.  She will fulfill the commitments she has made to a few 2011 brides, but will not accept any more.  The reason:  it's better for me and my children, blah blah.  The kicker:  My wedding was 11/6, and I haven't gotten my pictures (she said up to 6 weeks), but I am REALLY nervous right now.  Like, I am afraid that what she really means is she took horrible pictures or something.  Also, I emailed her after the wedding that I'm looking forward to the pictures, because everytime something funny/sweet/otherwise-photo-worthy happened, she was there, but she never responded :(

My B&M is that I got my hair cut and colored last week and I hate it ): The color is alright but the cut is just no bueno. My bangs look like they got attacked by a weedwacker.

Try not to stress. If she took good pictures before you booked her, yours are good too. Maybe she just really wants to spend more time with her kids. Don't let your imagination run away with you. It will only make you worry more. :)

My wedding was 10/15 and I don't have my pictures. My photographer stopped posting on facebook and her website no longer existed. I freaked out. It turns out she was updating the website, had a terrible family thing come up and just never re-published the website. I was SURE our wedding pics were gone forever, but I was just letting myself get convinced of the worst.

Fi wants a friend of his who is not invited to our Thanksgiving to make pumpkin pie for us. Really? You expected him to say yes?

He also wants me to figure out where all his stuff is going to go ( he moved in 10-31-10) If I put it away he will never find it, right?

    End B&M

We did put our rings on layaway Saturday, I will have my e-ring before Christmas!

Why does time speed up the closer I get to the wedding?

Why does it have to be so dog-hard to find a pair of good fitting jeans?! I bought 2 pairs of jeans from Old Navy probably 5 years ago and they are just worn out. I've been on a jean hunt for 2 days now, I think I found a couple decent pair at Lane Giant, but geez what a pain!

Renee - I have the same problem. I wear jeans from Avenue (on the cheaper end) and Gap (when I am willing to spend more). I HATE the jeans from LB - but I think it's just a me thing, others seem to like them.

ETA: Let me rephrase - I hate the LB brand jeans. They carry Seven7 jeans there, which I love - but they cost too much for me to make them my every day jean.

I am not a fan of the nylo and their policy on photos.  We are renting out two suites for the girls and the guys to get ready in the morning of the wedding then doing our first sight before we go over to Fairy tale manor then Matt and I will be coming back for our wedding night to stay in the larger suite.  For the two suites its a little over 600.00 and then they charge 100.00 for taking photos.  I asked why the charge and they said that photographers set up lighting ect that is disruptive to their business.  I advised our photog just uses natural lighting but it didnt make a difference which is annoying but i'll deal I guess.  The kicker is they then asked me if I wanted to add on 20.00 for breakfast the next morning. I am not one of those brides that thinks she should get stuff for free but I guess I just thought that when you book the 400.00 suite that you might get breakfast the next morning.  Silly me.

Yeah that sounds a little extreme. I'm the kind of person who would say "no biggie I'll just switch hotels." IMO that's a lot to ask of someone already spending so much with them.

New B&M, on behalf of my sister:  Her husband just got fired.  He's only been at this job a few months, and it was 100% commission, and before that, he was unemployed for the better part of two years.  Mostly because he wouldn't apply for jobs.  I am very afraid that she is going to lose patience and kick him out :(

The only other place we could go to would be aloft but for pictures I like the decor much better.  I might try calling again or writing a letter but in the end I will stay there because the rooms are perfect for what we want.  I just get the feeling that they are one of those hotels that knows they are popular so they dont have to do anything and they dont.  We mentioned we would be staying there our wedding night and they were like oh thats nice.  It sucks too because Chelsea said based off our engagements we should need more than 45 min to an hour of photos to get the pics we need before we go to the venue.

The plumbing in my kitchen broke last week, meaning no use of my kitchen or utility sink..plus our dishwasher is broken as well. The plumber is trying to blame us for the broken pipe (saying we stuck a coathanger down the sink??) and deny our home warranty claim - meaning its taking longer to get fixed! It SUCKS not having anywhere to wash dishes!!  I've been having to clean dishes in my bathroom sink..pretty sad.  All I've got to say is thank goodness we aren't doing Thanksgiving at my house this year..
