How should these shirt/dress things be worn?

So, I have very little fashion sense, and need help. My bridal shower is tomorrow, and I went out to get a dress for it. I found this thing, which I like, but I'm not sure if it's a shirt or a dress. It's just a bit too short to be worn alone as a dress, which is why I have shorts on under it. But it might be too long for shorts.

So, thoughts? Opinions? Does this look ok, or should I return it? Or am I just wearing it wrong?

I was going to say a skinny jean as well. If it's casual, I think you could definitely pull it off.

I would classify that as a shirt. I agree with wearing it with dark skinny jeans.

I wore skinny jeans and a tunic to my shower that was held at an aunt's house. Not eberybody loves skinny jeans, but I think as long as you keeo the bottom dark and streamlined it will complement the flowy top.

I would pair it with dark leggings and a slouchy boot or ankle boot.

Definitely too short to be worn as just a dress.

I'd either go with dark skinny jeans or a dark pair of leggings with heels or a cute boot.

I second the others. Fitted jeans or leggings/thick stockings would go well, I think. It's cute!

You can wear it over jeans or leggings, and also I'd stick a wide black belt around the middle, but that's just personal taste.

Leggings, but it's kind of a unique dress-- not my fav, but if you like it I would suggest black leggings, maybe mid calf

I wear straight leg jeans under those tops, with ballet flats. others say skinny jeans or leggings, but I loathe those. I'm going to ditto damaless on the belt, as I'm not digging the waist on that dress.
