Re: Annd.... it didn't zip up!! :(

  • First, if you're between a size 2 and 4, I'm sure you don't NEED to lose weight for health, BUT (in response to ks3pink) I personally agree with the advice to lose the 5 pounds you gained.

    Here's why:
-You said you gained 5 poiunds, which can be a lot on a small frame, and felt bloated
-You said the issue with the fitting was the waist area.

I'm completely with the above responses encouraging healthy eating, lots of veggies, water, tea, and exercise (my friend did power yoga before her wedding and said it transformed her abs into amazing, just a thought, but running and walking is great too, you could vary it). Please make sure you eat enough, though, and that you eat some lean protein. Muscle is what keeps our bodies tight and it needs protein.

Depending how much you know about nutrition, you could also consult a dietician.

Ultimately, it's up to you. I hope this was helpful.
  • I have something that will make you feel better. I hope.

I went to try on my dress for the first time since I had ordered it. And I to had gained maybe like 5lbs since I had tried it on. I'm 5'4 and 130lbs. I have small boobs but I have a big butt and a well toned midsection. I bought a mermaid style dress, cuz I wanted a dress that clung to my body and showed it off . I ordered a size 8, the same size as the sample dress i tried on. Well when i tried it on, it fit but there was all this weird bunching in the front of the dress down by my hips and the seamstress took one look at me and the first words out of her mouth were "it needs to be let out" and "you just need to go exercise". I was soooo upset because those were the first words out of her mouth!! then  i found out they are supposed to measure you before u order the dress to see which size you best would fit into. which they never had!

i explained to her that there was a lot of extra material on the inside of the dress that might be causing the bunching. (its there incase the dress needs  to be let out supposedly) and she looked. sure enough there was. well she said she was going to remove it. so when i went back 3 weeks later (i had also lost the 5 lbs i had gained). and tried the dress on it wasnt doing the bunching as much. i think it was just the way the dress was cuz the consultant was trying to figure out some things and was literally lifting it off of me. lol.

anyywayyysss long story short. it might might might be the 5 lbs. but it also could highly be the dress. lots of girls try on sample dresses so they wear down a bit. and dress places always suggest you order a dress larger than smaller so that they are not liable for you not fitting into your dress.

i hope this helped a bit!

  • Any bridal store should know you always order the larger size, taking in a dress is easier that out, they should have known better
  • They did the same thing to me only the mesurement was the bust. they were like oh we only ordered it ot be a half inch small when in fact I need almost 5 more inches in the chest. I was so mad. They are going to take it out they said but i told them no I want a  new dress. They are ordering me a new one now. I also refused to pay for their mistake. I ordered the size they advised me to and it isn't my fault they measured wrong.
