I got my dress! AW PIP

So I went to DB tonight after work and I took my dress back to exchange for a different one. Quick back-story: I bought the original dress because I fell in love with a dress when I was 15 and was hoping I could turn the dress I bought into something similar. Well after owning it for almost 7 months and meeting with a seamstress who dashed my dreams of turning it into a strapless dress I decided it really wasn't going to turn out anything like the dress I had envisioned I actually gave up on the idea completely and was ok with it. My next idea was just to find a beautiful dress that I loved. Well I had to go back to DB to exchange my dress and pick another. I tried on 3 dresses. One was made in a wrinkly material and was not very cute and here are the other two:

Runner up:

MY DRESS! <3

I love this dress 100x more than my original dress. I'm so happy with it. :) Please excuse my face and messed up hair. I actually went to the DR today because I couldn't breathe this morning and I can't stop sneezing and my throat itches. Well apparently I'm having an allergic reaction to something. I can't imagine what it could be though. So I'm a mess. :P

I thought I knew at 15 and gosh it was ugly. The teacher paired everyone up in 8th grade home ec and made us plan weddings...awkward.

Haha I had to do that in 8th grade too! We "got married" and "had kids." Good thing I was actually kind of friends with my "husband."

  • Very pretty dress.

HAA we had to carry around eggs what were our babies.  I put mine in my locker and it broke.   Oops.  Needless to say I didn't do so well in our "family" class.
  • Binx - I got stuck with the kid that ate his own boogers.

  • ty- it's really pretty! I hope your allergic reaction isn't to your dress! that'd be awful.

  • I love it!!!!  Honestly, I like it a lot better than your runner-up - the runner-up seems to wear you, but you're totally rocking your dress.  And if I do say so, the tulle ballgown reminds me of my dress!

  • Ohh beautiful!! I love it.  We had to get "married" in 8th grade too, but it was by lottery...you'd draw out of a hat for your job and single/married status, some people would wind up single and others would be married...I wound up as a single teacher, haha
  • Also, I went to private school, so no home-ec and no fake marriages/babies.  In some ways it's good, but I think they could have done a "real life" class of some sort, teaching kids to manage budgets, how scary credit cards are, how to cook basic meals, etc.

    Very Nice!!! I Love it!!

C-I know what you mean... I feel like they should REALLY prepare you for life as an adult.. not to carry around and egg or pretend to be "married".  Credit cards, budget planning, Mortgages and stuff... I wish I'd known about that stuff in HS...

  • C- when I got "married" it was in my personal fiance class. That assigment we learned to manage a budget (with the opposite sex)...each week for a month we were given scenario... kids are born...lost job...husband dies, and we had to change our budget to reflect those things.  I learned a lot on of practical information in that class, I wish all kids were required to take that class, people would learn how to manage money before they get into trouble.

  • Thanks everyone! :)

This was my dream dress that I have loved for almost 10 years:

And I tried looking at DB online and this was the only dress I found that resembles the one I originally bought. I swear this isn't what it looked like but it has to be the dress because I can't find another one that looks anything like it. Clicky
