  I would talk to your photographer and also think about how you want your pics to look. Also, think about the location of your wedding and whether you'd want your bridals to be in a similar or totally different kind of location. Meaning - if your reception is at City Park, then you'll probably have a lot of photos of you in your dress at the park, so maybe you'd choose something different for your bridals.
  
  Definitely ask your photographer as I am sure he/she will have plenty of ideas and can give you pros and cons for each.

  I am doing my bridals in the quarter, and my photographer told me that certain locations require permits or assess a fee to do bridals there. This was the case with both of my locations, but I'm not sure about City Park or other areas of the Quarter. It's definitely something to look into though, so you can make sure you get the pictures you want and aren't either asked to leave or charged an amount that you don't want to pay in permits!
  
  I prefer photos in the quarter because I feel like it's so beautiful and unique. You see those and you know it's New Orleans. So many of my friends took their engagement photos in a local park, and the locations are (for the most part) indistinguishable from each other. With the quarter, I think there's an extra spark and something different.

  If your reception is at a hotel in the FQ, the venue might be amenable to you taking pics around there. I did that and it was awesome.
